Confession

You'd grudge me your kisses,
were you aware:-

These rapturous moments shared
Are but an incarnation
Of fulsome embraces past,
Of mouths merged in soul redeeming bliss,
Of hands seeking out the body's truth,
Of whispers hushed and silence loud,
Of darkness cloyed by scented breath,
And light ablaze by passions glow;
Of desire rampant and beauty disrobed,
Of love unambitious and predacious lust
When the two as one have been,
Or the other to consume have tried;
In hate, in anger I have sown
To reap in sorrow when the mind
Betrays as the loins unite,
In dead of night and noontide high,
Evening, morn and all hours of day;
Before you;
Have been with me
-- these my fantasies,
Accessories to my sins of Onan.

Yes, my sins of Onan,
To atone for the sins uncommitted.

four

four steps up for your wording and strong feelings, couldn't take you to 5 because of all the of's. I cannot say I "love" a poem that has so many repeated opening words. Some may, I do not.

Free, frank, and fulsome

What range of emotions he portrays in such succint manner. The content and the craft are true complements to each other.

Heartwarming, heartbreaking . . .

Few sound so sincere in their expressions of love.
