Thin as a rail, nothing to grab a hold of. But she wrote some classics:
I love a dry Martini
But only two at most
Three I'm under the table
Four I'm under my host.
and
Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
A medley of extemporanea;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong;
And I'm Queen Marie of Romania.
and
Acids stain you
Rivers are damp
Razors pain you
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful

100 for the quote - Dorothy Parker - anyone who likes. Yours did not reach it, good attempt, though. Caught my eye. For Dorothy Parker, you would have been better, without the first two lines. The lines must be short and sweet, the last line you have to think of as a punch line, finalizing everything in that stanza.
Good try, no portentiousness here!
