She breathed
chains of fire

from her seared
and desperate lungs,

her naked feet
flying over the rocks

exposing themselves
as his soft breasts,

while the beat of the dark waves
she sought

became quieter as the plasma
shackles bound her legs

more tightly to
the granite of this distant shore.

She knew she would return,
cede to him her

gossamer clad body,
let him burn it away,

and take her soul
into the pure emptiness

he so sweetly offered.
