I woke up one day
cast away on a trail
of loneliness and despair.

Eyes wide open,
staring at no thing,
my ceiling is dark now,
but reassuring in its way:
no one will come tonight,
no nightmares and no fear,
no sadness and no pain,
nothing will hurt me again;
but my eyes won't see the blue
nor the white face of the snow,
no one will come tonight,
no new scares, but no dreams as well.

I woke up one day
and then I could not
fall asleep again.
