As morning begins in the leafy glade,
And all is peace in the forest's shade,
Blossoms tumble from the trees,
Loosened by the gentle breeze.

As rabbits feed at the pathway's edge,
The sun comes up as if on a stage,
Drifting in upon the breeze
Comes the sound of honeybees.

As if on stage, I cross the clearing,
The silence gives a peaceful feeling.
Now I rest beneath the trees,
And hear the hum of the bees.

A golden flower opens, takes a bow,
The bees will have their nectar now.
I enjoy the forest's shade
As I sit there in the leafy glade.

I must have been sitting there for hours,
The sounds of birds, the scent of flowers
Acting like a drug on me
As I sat beneath that leafy tree.

As I start for home, I feel lighthearted
Certainly better than when I started.
With nature I have spent the day,
That must be the perfect way.

Now I know when I am depressed
The remedy which will serve me best
Will be to walk that leafy lane,
Even in the wind and rain.
