I wait for you.
My screech-owl skin is lain aside,
only a feather in my curling, dark hair.
Fierce demon of the air am I,
but come to my soft embrace tonight
and know my pain.
We will ascend together, just thee and me,
through whirlwinds of scarlet fire.
Feel this kiss, my pale and trembling Christ;
feed me with the only salvation
that a rebellious child of the dust
longs for, thirsts for, burns for.
Drink, and live forever...

I will taste the living water.

Great poem

Would have given it a perfect, but the line "Fierce demon of the air am I" doesn't fit with the rest of the work in my opinion. The rest is magnificant. A work worthy of praise.

I like the

sacrifice/salvation imagery going on here....some nice original metaphors...

This is not.......

.....an easy read but worth the effort. One of two poems from a new arrival. Nice work.

well now

the title in itself is a sort of poetry. I love the concept and the images are really good :)
