What will the future bring,
You were so very small
the day you were born.
So tiny and frail.
You came so early,
Your future was so bleak
so very unsure.
The doctors gave you very
bad odds.
They flew you
to a hospital
so far away.
It seemed like forever
before I got to
see you again.
I called every night
and prayed that everything
would be alright.
You had your ups and downs
but through it all you
would not give up.
You were and are my
little fighter.
You surprised a lot of people
the day you came home.
In your short eight years
you have touched so
many lives.
Now the worst is behind us
and the future is ahead.
All the prayers and blessings
have been answered.
My tiny baby boy
has grown up so fast.
I miss the days
when everything was new.
I look forward now to
your future,
and hope it is a happy one.
