So, since those first few events never happened
Does that mean the relationship holds;
Or while those first few events never happened
Luck was exhausted on the relationship holding?
Chance of a breakup - an impossible thought. Then caught up in a maritial nightmare ~ I without you - You without I.
A bit tricky. Not unlike the poetics of the great Metaphysical poet John Donne, there is a comparison between the great powers of nature and the emotional life –especially that of lovers, sub division –separation of lovers. The Physical events never happened. The lover thought that just like in nature, their love could never break. BUT, unlike nature there is a surprise, and the implied complaint - their love did break. Thus the past tense: I thought we could not be alone, and the implied conclusion: but now I know better. I’d call this one an immediate classic.
When I wanted you ... when I needed you ... where were you?
Not here, maybe there ... with him?
The ache of wanting lives with me - will die with me. goodbye.
Sadness is a feeling, not a word.
