The dark days are gone
They all played their part
They helped me to grow strong
Peace now fills my heart.
At long last I am free
From thoughts that held me back
I see the best in me
Which keeps me on my track.
I think and act in love
Where once it was in fear
I thank the stars above
For all which I hold dear.
Within me still is lust
It helps to make me smile
I know now and I trust
Sometimes love takes a while.
I'm learning every day
That life is not just giving
To take what comes my way
And love the joy of living
Love taught me to feel
Tears helped clear the haze
Allowing me to heal
And navigate life's maze.
I live, I love, I laugh
A wonderful release
I know I have enough
And now I am at peace.
