but up to that, you could pare this work down a little bit, it is sort of like a "list poem" but it doesn't have to be. I think you could work this into a more pleasing read, even with the funny last line!!
ps, I have 2 cats that follow me around, watch me, make me do stuff for them, with their cat-eyed looks and yowls, its like having two *more* husbands now <WEG>
i'd take the cat any day
of the week! lol.
Nice poem, enjoyed
the read,
thanks.

having a cat is a lot less trouble. LOL! Anyhow, good luck with your search and I hope that your prayers are answered. :)
Love the poem, good luck on the man. I have two cats already, I'll settle for the man this time.
So very serious, so... Wounded a voice speaking in this poem. And at the end, "Failing all that God, send me a cat." I have an affinity for cats, and in some ways, they do make a reasonable substitute for the lack of another human presence in one's life. I chuckled at first, but then I felt a sadness come over me. For a very, very long time, I had done something similar to what this poem asks for. I settled for the companionship of my cats while my marriage slowly fell apart. I repeat what I've said elsewhere - you have a gift for writing poetry.
but except for that, I didn't think much of your lament. If you want a man, why don't you go out and find one instead of of praying for one? There are millions of men available but you have to look for them. I've certainly never had any problems finding a man whenever I wanted one.
This was probably one of the first or second of your poems I'd read. I loved it. It provokes the same feelings I guess we've all had, well, me anyway. I could have written almost the same but reversed, Please find me a woman.
And as for that last line, well, that's just brilliance, really made me smile. Excellent work, Lovely Lady. xx
