would
What would I say
if I could press my lips
to yours
as you slept
and whisper
my secret?
How would I trespass
your dreams
with my words?
Betray my need
while your sleep
safeguards
my heart?
you
And would you,
as I slept,
confess yourself
to me?
Breathe life into
this sacred
almost?
Murmur truths my
unawakened heart
cannot yet bring itself
to hear?
Would your artless vow
be what gives
me faith?

Lovely!
I do understand what Desejo means, but to me the two single words lead up to the first line of the second stanza as a kind of link...
A question without an answer, of course - if only...
NO ANSWERS TO SLEEPING QUESTIONS
leaving doubt and remorse. TK U MLJ LV NV
Some wonderful lines here
However, I don't understand the single word lines (would, you). For me, they detract from the poem. Interested to hear what others think - and maybe what you were thinking with the structure.
Thanks, Harry... Every once in awhile a gem hits me :)
Artless vow........!!!!!!!!!!
no guile...no making the words pretty ..simple truth?
wonderful phrase.
