in the space between the shilouettes of trees
I saw Africa
I thought of you and looked for Cape Town
you weren't there
you were with me
as always
I felt you in the breeze
your fingers brushing against my skin
as you swept away a few loose strands of my hair
and I closed my eyes
and you were there
I saw your eyes turn and look into mine
you sent my guides to protect me
snake fox coyote and lion
the snake is the healer
the one that stayed the longest
the one that gives me strength
you are my soul's medicine
diligently I watch for your signs and symbols
I see the things that only you and I share
and I smile to myself
our secrets
our codes
known only in our world
the world we share alone
I am alive in that space
the space where there is no time
no separations
no distance
only the two of us
forever
plus
three
It helps to know the story behind it, but the poem stands alone without the background. Simply lovely.
- especially if you know the story behind it. Beautifully written and deeply touching. Excellent craftsmanship. Some of those lines will stay with me for a very long time.
Very nice. I wouldn't have expected such a burst of light from one who lives in a crypt. :-)
The love between you two leaves me in a state of awe. It's pure, simple...it's love and your words depict it beautifully.
