Laying low in a low state
Contemplating something I’m sure
Between this and that and everything else
Currently being tossed out the window.
Too many sounds to isolate a purpose
In an angry blast of noise outside,
But don’t bother looking
It wouldn’t be wise

Or just go ahead and ignore me anyway.
Do it with a frown and a sigh
Feel free to contemplate whatever
Right along with me
Until the tree falls
Or the comet hits
Or the bomb, the wild beast, the politician
Destroy us like cattle
One and all.

Either/or
maybe neither
I’m pretending to be
To tired to care.
Seems to be working so far.
Even I feel the truth behind the yawn
Even though I know it was forced.

Bravo.

I love your writing style, the events themelves, and the grit with which you describe it.

Pointless, but never boring

at least not to me. I've always enjoyed your laissez-faire wordplay and this poem is no exception. It's nice to see you writing here again.

Continuing on in your jaded tradition; yawn, forced or real, tells of a bored outlook. Like saying it's all so unreal and phony.
