My thoughts rush and tumble like lemmings
and you are the sea.
Our souls touch with a sensuality
more erotic than any physical act.

You are like the alien in "Cocoon"
who has invaded me with your total being,
and I shall carry you with me forever;
without you, I am not whole.

If our fingers should accidentally meet,
the pain would be so sweetly unbearable.
You are so sensitive, so bright;
how do you know me so well in so short a time?

I have been caged and you have freed me;
my soul soars and celebrates;
yet, because I have been entombed so long,
I fear my spirit's taking wing.

Only this instant matters, only now;
tomorrow shall not invade my thoughts,
nor disturb your presence
as I selfishly covet and cherish you.
