You capture something early. I glimpse it and then I find it destroyed in your list at the end. Instead of evoking imagery I find myself skipping it, annoyed, because all it is, is words.

and about the allure of wanting more that one knows is good for oneself--ultimately even the lure is lost. I love this part best--
