The Right To Write

It’s nice to know
that I can just click on a shortcut
and start typing anything I want
The thoughts that come to my mind
the ideas I have
and I can always be blunt
It’s not against the law to speak
exactly what’s on my mind
I can say it as I think it
anywhere I chose
and at any time

Freedom of speech is such a powerful tool
that we all possess
The option to share our opinions with the world
helps to alleviate a lot of stress
If I think I’m being mistreated or
something I witness just isn’t right
I can pick up my laptop
click on a program
and initiate a textual fight

The mind is a terrible thing to waste
and at the same time
an invaluable tool
Any person not ready
to exercise their mind
is in trouble
and I pity the fool

So speak freely my friends
set your mind free
it’s a right
so exercise it
Writing is an excellent form of expression
and it’s one activity
that I’ll never quit
