Congrats!

On getting an E! It's about time, what with all the wonderful poems you've posted here. Very well-deserved.

Angeline

Thanks! I'm still trying to figure out what the 'E' is all about.

editors choice

You made some editor a very happy man or woman so the bestow upon you an E or something like that :-p

You mash so many ideas together in these little prose/poetry oddities that they are sometimes baffling and oddly confusing but all in all most of the times interesting congrats on the E

I think I get it

But even if I don't, it was a good read.

I dunno.

I agree with Susan Snow rather than Angeline - I don't know what the green E is about either. It maybe just struck the right note with Laurel and that's enough for me when you consider what the poor woman has to wade through every day.

But I am a bit concerned: both my wife and I are left handed - but a deep and murky memory says Angeline is too

Thanks!

All the info you provided about the E is cool. 'Twas excited. The idea of the left handed marriage comes from the word Plaçage. I'm of Cajun French and African American ancestry, born in New Orleans. Plaçage is defined as the co-habitation of a free woman of color and a white man. I'm fascinated by the inherent binaries of this arrangement. Thanks for your feedback.

Congratulations

Congratulations on a very well deserved E.

Personally I would have given it to a different poem of yours (such as Ruled by Uranus). Although I enjoyed this one I was less taken by it. Left handed marriages does not invoke anything for me & ‘I see it there I nursed’ makes no sense to me grammatically let alone rationally. For me there are still gems - ‘Bitter. Quite bitter. Always thirsty. Different’ just gets me.

As I have said before, you have an amazing talent for putting together phrases. I always feel really happy when I see you have entered a new poem and it is like unwrapping a surprise present when I open it.

What's with the E?

I am often puzzled by why one poem receives an E and another does not, but sometimes I think the E is in recognition of a body of work, and that may be the case with you. You've submitted so many poems that (at least imho) are deserving of an E, that they finally picked a poem and awarded you one. But what do I know lol? I was always shocked at the poems I got the E for and irritated sometimes cause I thought I deserved one and didn't get it! And yes, Ishtat, I am left-handed. And pretty left-headed too. :-D
