What Do You Want?

It's been thirty years since I've heard from you
Then suddenly from out of the blue
Comes a note saying "contact you".

You enclosed your email address,
I do not wish to jump back in that mess,
Although I do miss your caress.

So much has happened since we last spoke.
I don't want this to be a joke.
I do not want a heart that's broke.

So until I hear more from you
I'm not sure of what I'll do.
Right now it depends on you.

It took me a while to forget about you
It wasn't easy, but hard to do,
And even then I still thought of you.

Until I hear what you want from me
On pins and needles I will be.
Just be truthful and honest with me.

If you're still married, then go away,
I really would not want to play
That's what made you go away.

No matter how much I might care
It isn't right, or even fair,
To lay things out is hard to bear.

I wonder what you want from me?
We have so much ancient history
I can give you updates for you to see.
