Like the story but you like many other authors on this site are confused about polygraph tests. The questions can only be yes or no types and they have to be very specific. Such as "Was your first communication with Dennis using the internet?". Not "Did you meet Dinnis on the internet?". My ex was asked the second question but insisted she didn't lie. If the person beleives in the strict meaning of words, they can often get by if the questions are not extremely concise.

Polygraphs only work when specific rules are followed. For one, only around 10 questions are allowed. For another, the one being tested HAS to be told all the questions in advance. Always in advance, you cannot surprise them with a question. The first couple of questions are only used to calm down the one being tested, usually something like "is your name blah blah"; these questions are used to not only calm, but to provide a baseline of response to known "yes" truthful answers. All questions have to be Yes or No - nothing else is allowed.

I had several polygraphs over the years as a requirement of my employment and the questions ARE NOT given in advance. Providing the questions allows the person being tested to practice his control response.

Welcome to the American justice system where there is almost no chance at justice for the victim and incredible opportunities for the perpetrator to fuck you again and again.

But Lisa needs to suffer (anguish and humiliation only, nothing physical!) and earn her way back into the bedroom. Transgression without consequence is not realistic. The sex and marriage will never be right until she does (earn it.)

And what about the answers to the questions? That's another chapter right there. The conversations to vent and clear the air? Penetrating Lisa, knowing another man has been there recently, enjoying her in the same way? What he did to reclaim his wife and her sexuality? And what about Lisa's perspective, thoughts, things she didn't reveal?

Because of contempt and disrespect and because they WANT to and because they think they're slick enough to get away with it or because they think their wife/husband/live-in-sex-partner is too fucking dumb to ever catch on that they're doing it. In cases of pure lust, the first requirement is to find JUSTIFICATION TO DISRESPECT their partner.

What they all forget is that "If you don't lie, you don't have to remember what you said." Contradictory statements are what get most cheaters caught.

Every time I read a story where the Wife isn't set on fire and dumped in a hole, the trolls come out. I often think they must not have been in a real marriage with kids or they wouldn't be so quick to judge, or to think it's so easy to break up a family.

Another more realistic story by the author. The marriage was failing sadly the husband didn't realise until to late and the wife had started cheating. It would have been a more rounded story if we had something from the wife' viewpoint and perhaps something from the marriage counselling as well.
