I liked the story. Slow in the first 3 chapters and then it picked up. I just wanted to know if Joey would find true love and he did. And there is a moral to this story. Looks aren't everything, its what's inside that counts. And maybe you can write a story about Nancy and if she finds true love.
Just kidding. So many characters to like, such good people. Such a terrific writer. Thanks
Lovely story. Joey is a bit of a (sometimes dense) dweeb....but then, that's the basic premise of the story. Very, very entertaining writing.
Couldn't say it any better than "shoe".
Good read.
Thanks DG

Pure----- romance, in this chapter. Again the blurb at the beginning left me worried!
DG, you have done it again, left an old romantic crying in his beer, thank you again
DG you really put a wonderful ending on this story. I can't wait to see whats next. A fantastic/superb story! More Please?
DG, a good old-fashioned feel-good love story! You da man!!

Quibbles? Of course, very few, via "Send Feedback".
Nice to read a story about pretty average people, who meet, fall in love and get married. No contrived situation to build suspense, just an old fashioned love story with a nice happy ending.
I can't help but smile every time I see your name attached to a new posting, as I am almost always certain that it will be a story I will thoroughly enjoy reading. You, Sir are an entertainer. You have given to this community more then most, and I selfishly hope that you continue for to do so for many years to come.
I'll bet the other half(your readers) were or are in tears. I certainly am! Thank you so much!
I'm sorry this story had to end. But if it did, this was a great way to do it. We spent so much time with average joe this week it's good to see that sometimes a regular guy can get the girl. Another masterpiece, but that's what we've come to expect
I hope, that I wrote here it is an excellent story, more people find to read.
I've read this a couple of other times and just finished the third. Wonderful story with well defined characters. Good guys sometimes do finish first. Ariel is a winner.
Your average is better than most others best efforts. Unlike the title, 'Average Joe' is up there with your better efforts and far from average.. Congratulations
This is probably the best, most sincere, and touchingly written love story that I've read. Not only on this site but anywhere ! It would really make a first rate "chick flick"
Please continue your excellent writing....it just gets better and better
Kindesy regards, M
I loved this story. The premise and plot were excellent. However it seemed a bit rushed and pedestrian. The feelings of your characters could be expanded upon more. I guess with the earlier parts as it was sex without love was what you were trying to portray. This is life. Sometimes that's all we get. 5 stars anyway as I'm a sucker for a love story. :)
You have set such a challenge to the other writers in this group.
I was being sarcastic up above but I am so jealous.
I really enjoy reading your stories. Right now this was my favorite because I felt emotionally conflicted. Ha && I'm not a emotional guy but this story gave me all sorts. For Example : His parents dieing made me sad. Also, him basically looking for himself thinking his uncle only care about tha money. Got me mad. Then, their was when he thought Ariel was seeing another man got me Sad/Mad. Yeah. I hate to admit this story actually made me feel like crying. Finally, just a brilliant masterpeace. Lol : P
Very well laid out romance story. I loved the characters with just the right amount of description. Nothing like a happy ending.
This was a gripping story for me. I kept waiting for something to go wrong or for Joey to get hurt. I've been one and wished my life turned out like Joey's did. But I can't complain. Great read! Bring on the next story. I like yours!!
DGH, an emotional rollercoaster but in all, an enjoyable story of an interesting character,
How's it go? "Good Guys finish last and Good Women are very appreciative!
I enjoyed the story but didn't think of myself as emotionally invested. Very much surprised to find tears in my eyes at the proposal and again at "Over the Rainbow". Thank you. Average Bruce, age 63
So nice to see an "average Joe" be a winner!!
what an amazing story and so well told....loved the interaction of all the people he met and the women who taught him how to make love especially Mary.....a damn good story and so believable...
How wonderful!
All the elements of a beautiful romance.
Thank You.

A story that leaves me feeling this good has to be bookmarked. Thank you so much. Not being way pissed off at the end is great.
I really liked this series, nicely done. Some spelling issues or misused of words. and as another reader commented it's nice to see a happy ending and not have a twist at the end that leaves you pissed off.
I know most pepole come to this site to find let's say adult rated material but this is the kind of story I look for and am happy that I came across it
Loved it, sad at first nothing seriously happened between him and Mary, BUT I'm glad how things turned out in the end, nice to read a story that it didn't end with the woman cheating on him by sleeping with other men, it's nice to have a happy ending.
At the end, I had tears in my eyes. Unusual for a guy, but after reading all 7 chapters the ending was a really special moment.
...that is also so well written. Always a great read when the protagonist succeeds. Joey was the consummate underdog with all our (the readers) most admirable traits. Very enjoyable. An easy 5*
...american. You don't see a film, you take it in, or catch it. Popcorn, of course. Ubiquitous refs to baseball, football. I suppose it makes the simple readers feel familiar. Can't say I´m impressed. Nonetheless, the author is an imaginative story teller. i´ll give it three, I enjoyed it after all.
I had tears coming down my cheeks. "If you say no I'm going to be awfully embarrassed. You can't see them from where you're sitting but your family and mine are here tonight to hear you sing."
dick move, don't mention the parents after saying 'if you say no'. Idiot.
The story leads well from chapter 4 forward, and the character development was genuinely enjoyable. The romance was nice and gave me something to smile about at the end.
Great Love Story. I love how you developed the characters which made me want to keep reading to the end. Really enjoy how most of your stories have a happily ever after ending. This was a real pleasure to read. Gets my 5 star vote. Well done DG.
Being an average looking guy and a little chubby I fell in love the minute I saw my wife 36 years ago. We had two great kids and I had a fantastic career. Like most of the love stories we had ups a down and discussed divorcing a couple of times. We fought for our marriage and I’mmore in love with her now then when we met. Like Joey I had a great teacher when in my mid 20’s. Faithful to each other for 36 years. Sex or money was never the reasons for talking divorce. 20 years ago in my late 40’s I grew up and life has just been better. Then I ever imagined. Great love story.
One of the best stories I have read. I have read several of your submissions and think that you are one of the better contributors
Frankly speaking, you nailed it man. Your story is cute, hot and we cannot but like every character in it ... especially Average Joe. It's a candy to read if I can use that saying. I read so many stories here for many yrs under a different name and this one is certainly one of the best. It felt like watching a great movie ... five stars all the way. Like Sean Connery says to Nigholas Cage in the movie "The Rock" ... Joe gets the prom queen. Keep on writing please !
The whole series was fantastic...well written and the Average Joe was likeable the whole time. I really enjoyed it!! 5*
I read the whole series and I think you walked a very fine line between an average Joe emerging from his shell to become a happily married man and the risk of seeing your main character become the victim of manipulators and return to his shell. Joey is a soft and tender heart child that lacks social skills. Her could easily be taken advantage of; he could easily be the victim of sweet talkers and be in the same situation as Sylvia and Earl in the story. He deserves better, much better. Thank God he has some seriously good and devoted friends (Nancy, Mary, Linda ... to name but a few). At first, I thought this was about a 2-3 stars story but as I read, the rating increased to become a solid 5 +++. Thank you for your writing.
BJ
Well done, I didn't feel the second part from Mary's perspective was necessary but otherwise a great story. 5*
Old softy, you and me must be related, terrible hay-fever thing again eh?
Fantastic story.
Nice find romantic stories here instead of, “ohh you’re so big, shoot it all over me!”, all the time.
