Maybe he would get to stay with her all weekend. He could only hope. He forced himself to concentrate on the directions and made sure not to speed. She got to her friend's house a half hour late, and as he carried the basket to the front door for her, he hoped and prayed he would become part of this Friday night ritual from now on.
The door opened on her second ring, and a vivacious little woman smiled a greeting at them. She eyes Rick speculatively, and as Cara took the basket form him, she stared at him as though assessing his worth. He leaned forward, and planted a tender kiss on Bella's lips, ignoring her friend, and said,
"Call me when you're ready, okay?"
Cara nodded, and smiled at him, before disappearing inside, leaving Rick to hope the things said about him would not make her retreat again, because he wasn't sure how he would handle that.

DawnJabout 11 years agoAuthor...how the people who have the harshest criticisms are usually anonymous. If you can't stand by your convictions, no one needs to hear your thoughts. They're not worth listening to if you're too chicken to show your face as you make them!

GimletEdgealmost 13 years agoI love the way the professor's desire for the older student becomes more frantic and passionate with each coupling. I can picture him trembling the way that you describe him.
I also caught that hint about Rick's other side, the one that he determined not to reveal yet to Bella. What could it be? Yum!
I hope you will be moved at some point to return to the story and continue it. The first five chapters are so promising that it's definitely worth the effort.
