If each of us, the readers, place ourselves in Jason's shoes it quickly becomes clear that a shallow, on the spot, response would be inadequate. This choice requires an in depth examination of one's innermost beliefs and one's willingness to either accept and adapt to an existing situation. Which would take time, and Jason doesn't have much, if any, time.
I do know that in most situations, whether relationship or business, the first ending, a snap response without taking time to think, is often the worst choice.
I honestly don't know how I'd respond to Cathy if I were in Jason's place.
It was so hottt!!!
It made me hard as a rock!!!!
I can imagine the scene so easily.

Any one who thinks that any couple could have a future after the way this story played out is very niave about people. Any relationship has an element of trust in it and the trusts that where broken here are to many too count. It is a very well written story but without much reality in it.
