Can't Get Enough

I have read this story three times and everytime I read it it gets better. I guess I am just a hopeless romantic who loves a good story with a happy ending. Speaking of happy endings, you will be in my prayers for a full recovery from your recent health issues. God Bless You.

IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE,DAY OR HOUR

IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE HOUR OR DAY TO FALL IN LOVE. CARLIE WAS SENT TO NATHAN SO THAT THEY COULD BE TOGETHER. THE WRONG TURN IN THE ROAD THE DECISION TO WALK THE DIRECTION SHE DID WAS ORDAINED BY FATE AND NATHANS DEAD WIFE{ AN ANGEL SENT FROM ABOVE}. SHEWANTED NATHAN AND HER CHILDREN TO BE LOVED AND HAPPY AND TAKEN CARE OF UNTIL HE CAME TO HEAVEN SO THEY COULD BE TOGETHER AGAIN THAT IS WHAT DARA WANTED ALSO. THE CHILDREN KNEW THAT SHE WAS GOING TO BE THERE NEW MOMMY THERE MOTHER TOLD THEM SO. A GREAT LOVING STORY THAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND HAVE READ MANY TIMES. I DO HOPE THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN A SEQUEL ABOUT DARA(CARLIE) NATHAN AND THERE WONDERFUL CHILDREN. 15 STARS PLUS SO VERY WELL WRITTEN . THE SCENE IN THE CHURCH STARTED TO GET TO ME BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID DARA HAD PASSED ON GIVING BIRTH . IT WAS HEART WARMING TO KNOW THAT IT WAS THE CELEBERATION OF THERE NEW SON. YOU COULD HAVE TOPPED IT OFF BY IT BEING A GIRL NAMED{CARLIE KENDRA}. AN OVER THE TOP STORY PLEASE WRITE MORE ABOUT NATHAN,DARA{CARLIE AND THE CHILDREN.}

A roller-coaster ride for the heart

One of the best, if not THE best I have read. Almost stopped reading it when you did the scene change to the church after the baby was born. Was furious at the thought of Dara having died. Then SUCKERED, pretty good trick. Made the heart swell and the eyes tear. Keep up the outstanding writing.

To expand on the comment by Rightbank. The baby should have been a girl and named Carlie Kendra Carter. After all every one of them had been visited by Angel Kendra and given her blessing.

I also like the “Hallmark Christmas Special” comment. I would most definitely watch it.

rightbankrightbankalmost 10 years ago
I know the story was crafted to tug at the heartstrings

but I have to ask a question that has been bugging me.

If he had a working snow machine, and the snow had stopped enough that they could build a snowman and go off to the woods and get a Christmas tree. Why didn't he take a short ride in the other direction to contact the authorities and get medical help instead of baking cookies?

Beautiful story...but......

I love your story. It has compassion and cheer and all the elements of a Christmas story. However you said the doctor came out cleaning his blood covered hands??? Did he perform the hysterectomy barehanded? Chuckles. Aside from that...perfectly written.

Rushed Romance

I enjoyed the story except for one bit: Nathan goes from feeling guilty about having sexual feelings for anyone other than his deceased wife to suddenly wanting to marry a woman who doesn't even know her own identity in, what, two days?

Fantastic!

An absolutely great story. I could feel the love that the family shared.

I was getting depressed as I was reading the ending, I thought for sure she was going to die. I was so glad that she lived and that you tricked me. A true feel good story. Thank You

A Damned Good story

A real classical tale, with highs & lows and a happy end.

Thank you

It was good, I even cried, then you decided to be cute with the ending

Everything built up to the happy ending and you had to pull the rug out from under us. You just couldn't leave well enough alone, you couldn't be content with everything you foreshadowed? what the f@#$%ck is wrong with a happy ending????? you destroyed a perfectly good story!

Holy cow

What a jet-fueled, over-caffeinated, supercharged roller coaster ride! I spent most of the read trying to hide tears from my SO across the room, and my heart damn near fell through the floor when the baby was born and christened. Not curves as some have called them, but major kinks of kinds directional, not sexual.

This is a fantastic story. I can't wait to see if there's more.

Much as I enjoyed it...

His sudden proposal to an amnesiac woman he'd known for a handful of days was pretty immersion-breaking. It just seemed so sudden and didn't seem realistic to me.

One Read Is Not Enough

After a second reading, I loved this story even more. If this is any indication of your writing skills, I know why you have moved on to the published world.

The story struck so many ways emotionally-happy-sad-frightened-unsure and weeping among others. Thank you for writing such a wonderful and emotional story.

Bless You!!!

Danielle that was absolutely one of the best stories I have read in a very long time... I will admit that you scared the daylights out of me when Dara ran into trouble after the birth and at the start of the church scene I was seriously thinking "OH NO NOT AGAIN!!!!" Glad all worked out in the end.

You belong in the same class as a few other writers here that I really like, romantic1, oldhippie1949 and moogplayer, This was the first of your stories I hae read and will read more.

One problem though, I can't give you10 stars even though this story deserves them...

Great Christmas Gift to Your Readers!

Danielle,

You displayed your creative wordsmith talent, positive outlook, and sense of emotional connections in this lovely Christmas tale. The father/children connection, new and building romance between Nathan and Dara, as well as the continuing connection between Nathan and his first wife were delightful ! Thanks very much! Gift us with more fine tales when you get a chance please! Good luck in finding that house! Dan

Emotions raw

When painful emotions that have been deeply buried for years are pulled forth by a story, when the tears keep coming even after the last page is read, then true healing becomes possible.

Thank you for providing this opportunity to finally release grief long supressed. Yes, it hurts when the protective numbness fades yet just maybe I can start to live again rather than continuing mere existence.

I truely enjoy how you write. I was tearing up every page or two about something, then I thought the story was winding down when she had the baby and then oh no she is dying. The next scene was the family at the church where I thought for sure Dara had passed away. That was a very mean trick. :o)

Charming story

My mother died of breast cancer recently. Somewhat like Nathan's wife, she never said a word until it was too late. My father was devastated and died shortly after. I sat here an cried, wishing he'd found a mystery woman like "Carlie" to heal his broken heart. You captured Nathan's loving way with his children so perfectly. (I think most female readers are suckers for a primary who's a great dad.) I found the ending of this story a little rocky, as though you had distanced yourself from it and had trouble stepping back into it, but, overall, it's a lovely, romantic Christmas tale. A keeper. Thank you.

:) Awh

A lovely story, romanticize me to bits.. Just something to consider Danielle..If you ever find a person dying from exposure not shivering, the first thing you do is to wrap their stomach only, leaving the rest exposed..The blood collects there and has to be started to move again ever so slowly.. The worst thing you can do is to wrap them in aside your fireplace.. Keep them cool start with the stomach and as you see limbs arms etc slowly come to life again you can massage.. This process takes hours, otherwise they probably will die from the shock and gangrene..This lesson I believe was learnt at sea under the second world war (convoys) ..Cheers Yoron
