Great! I have a suggested addition - right after they step out of the elevator:

Besides the ladies, the lobby held a man wearing a tool belt - obviously a maintenance worker, and a uniformed security guard. The maintenance worker told the ladies they should not get on the elevator until he had checked it out The security guard gave us a long look and whispered, "You do know there is a closed-circuit security camera in that elevator, don't you? Thank you for the show." Oops.

Other than an end which is a bit abrupt, I loved the story.
