Nice Story

Well structured and written. You will never have the majority of the commentators on your side as long as you do not come up with extreme revenge. You know the boys love to talk about how a real man would behave. I remember a woman friend telling me many years ago that you do not kick some one out of be unless you know where the next pussy or cock is coming from. People really have to think before they act, especially when they are blindsided. It takes a while to get things together....

as usual

well written but I would have liked to know more about his

wife's doings on her nights out. "Is the Pope catholic" implies a lot but Cindy knew more from her husband. Up to the end I felt there was more to the story. Then the end seemed a bit rushed to wrap it up.

The Confrontation scene and No panties - ABSURD

Rich's reaction to her going out with NO panties is pathetic. I dunno maybe there is something to all this british wimp stuff.

<br></br>

This could of been a GOOD story but the confrontation scene is fucking laughable. Corrine comes down the stairs and shows Rich she has No panties on and plans to fuck many men all night.

<br></br>

<i>"Go and put your panties on Corrine," I tried to reason with her. "You can't go out like that; you'll get raped."

<br></br>

"Go to hell you bastard. They won't have to rape me. I'll be offering."

<br></br>

Corrine continued to stand there, teasing me, her skirt still held up almost to her waist.

<br></br>

I suddenly felt very calm. Don't know why or how, but I did.

<br></br>

"If you go out dressed like that, and with that attitude Corrine," I told her in a steady voice. "We're finished. Our marriage is over. I won't be here when you get back."

</i>

<br></br>

So if she wEnt out dressed liked that... been caught lying twice by Rich But had panties on.. THEN marriage would NOT be over?

Good story!

I see HIV's mark all over the previous comment, although it is anonymous, as it should be. We have developed a couple of really strange commenters in this category. They obviously have issues and thrust their misery and insecurities on the rest of us readers. This was a humorous, enjoyable story. I really liked it. (When a commenter types in caps, suspect that it's HIV)

This story was believable.

Harryin VAHarryin VAalmost 15 years ago
who cares about wife? Its RICH that is the issue

I see Morons like Bruce22 are already Missing the point. Good to know the stupid people are still in top form.

To me the issue is HOW and WHY Rich reacts to the whole confrontation scene. Rich has just found out Corrine is a "Loose woman" at best or a whore at worst. She has been caught by him in numerous lies.

<br></br>

<b> But Rich never mentions her lies in the confrontation scene on page 3 </b> . All he prattles on about is that it might not be safe or that it is wrong for a wife to go out like that etc etc.

<br></br>

Then in that conversation the wife says to him:

<br></br>

I am going out to fuck many men.

<br></br>

I may never come home

<br></br>

I am going out with any panties

<br></br>

<i>"You with another woman! You wouldn't have the guts you <b>pathetic wimp. </b>If another woman hit on you, then you'd run a mile."

<br></br>

"Bloody right it isn't you<b> spineless loser,"</b> my wife shouted at me, having completely flipped her lid. "I'm going out with Judy again tonight, and I might give you something to really worry about."</i>

<br></br>

when told her action meant the end of the marriage Corrine Goes out anyway.

<br></br>

hows does Rich react?.... he says <b> OH DEAR!!</b>

<br></br>

Oh dear? Oh dear?

<br></br>

come on folks how is that even remotely beleiveable?.

<br></br>

a few days later Rich decides to move back Home into the Spare bedroom.

It was over

When she called him a "spineless loser" and a "pathetic wimp." She had no respect for him. You can't stay in a marriage like that.<P>

Of course, the see through blouse, miniskirt with no panties, and the declaration that she might stay out all night were also rather obvious indications, too.<p>

So his options are: (1) Shoot or beat her (2) Shoot or beat her companions (3) Remove himself. This is Britain. The first 2 don't work. So he removes himself. Not a bad option. It would have been better to remove her but not bad.<P>

A hour later she is all remorseful and repentant but he has to know it's still over (see paragraph 1). Then it's just the sorting out. Finding out that she actually lied(!) and was really a slag just moves things along quicker.<P>

Not your best but not bad. I wonder if you write a story where the wronged husband offs his wife if you would actually get any different reviews?<P>

Thanks for sharing.

Bravo # 55

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! This is an excellent vignette reflecting the problems many young people experience in their inter-personal relationships. In such a nightmare world as portrayed in the story, the old values as espoused by the husband are held to be abnormal by the wife. The wife,Corrine, expresses contempt and derision for the husband's ideals of home, family, loyalty, marriage, honor, and love.Corrine's paradigm is juxtaposed in that promiscuity, sensuality, and personal freedom are the ideals.Corrine sums up this philosophy when she retorts that" you don't own me!"In the new paradigm hubands and wives do not own their mate's bodies. They do not belong to each other. They are not one!Commmitment to the marriage is non-existant.Lest some fool comment that this phenomenon is unique to England;think, again, as the same holds true in Canada and the U.S.A.In my area of the U.S.A. married women go out in packs seeking men to prey on special nights that bars promote as "cougar nights"!They seek physical relations with men that will allow no emotional attachments. The husband is expected to babysit the kids while wifey hunts her prey in packs with the other cougars. These cougar nights are immensely popular and other establishments are endeavoring to foster similar events as they are very lucrative. This brings the reader back to the fact that the author has successfully expressed the truth of the situation. This story is not about tomorrow but ,rather, today!Ritterburg# 55

I don't see what Harry is getting upset about.

This is a story of a wife who didn't want to be married to Rich anymore and proved it by fucking around. But unlike most stories the husband got divorced and moved on. Nothing wrong with that at all.

A normal response:

While I suppose hope and love do go together, the husband sure tried to hide from the truth a little longer than most. For me, when you had her show such disrespect and selfishness in their BIG confrontation, at that moment he should not have hesitated: clearly as she walked out the door that night, she had ended the marriage. ALL the running around afterwards was in some sense well written padding for the story. But in the end the plausible conclusion ocurred and everyone got what they deserved in this tale. Almost sounds romantic.

Fun Story

OK, I would have jumped ship much earlier ... well, how would I know, I've never been even close to a situation like this! However, you did not drag it on for an unreasonable period of time.

What I don't understand is the female mind that would do such a thing, if such women even exist.

Thanks for the entertainment.

Keep it up

It's really refreshing to find a story where a father isn't having sex with his daughter, or a husband isn't getting off watching his wife as the centre piece of a gang bang.

Britease and a few others actually dream up a plot that is both interesting and plausible. That, coupled with a good writing talent, provides good entertainment - please keep it up.

Risq_001Risq_001almost 15 years ago
I see the same points as Harry,

<p>Personally I think its a culture thing. I'm not picking of the British folks, but I've known quite a few in my life, and I work with someone who is now, and sometimes they confuse me.</p>

<p>The gentleman I currently work with I could see saying "oh dear" to something major. It's not the same why most Americans say it, with barely any real surprise, but when he does it, he usually means it in a way of something quite troubling to him. After a couple of years working with him, I've gather things that I might rant and rave at he doesn't, but that didn't mean it doesn't bother him.</p>

<p>But I too was troubled that the wife's character ranted and raved, called him belittling names, and afterward he went back for seconds. And when she tried to hug him after telling him she was going out to cheat on him, he stepped between the couch and her to keep her from getting to him? That's something you see from a wife who's afraid her husband will abuse her, not from a husband with no interest in letting his wife touch him.</p>

<p>Not to mention that I was bothered by the fact that he knew his wife was cheating on him, but he decided to "pretend" that he didn't know till he couldn't anymore.</p>

<p>And Judy and her husband stayed together and she was out doing the same thing? I mean the story started with Rich getting his first clue about what Corrine was up to when Neil cornered him in a pub and basically told him his wife was corrupting his wife Judy. And that bothered Neil enough that they (Neil and Judy) stayed together once Rich and Corrine divorced? Why did Neil get mad? It was almost because he was upset at being left out of the fun. The story didn't say that, but as the reader I kind of infer that if her catting around on him really bothered him, they would have divorced instead of pretending that she wasn't out cheating on him too. Neil took the "really" easy way out.</p>

<p>While I like your main character <i>almost</i> stood up for himself, I kind of found him lacking in any real self respect for himself. I mean he tried to <i>hide</i> from what his wife was doing, and how she treated him when she couldn't, or wasn't able too, go out and cheat on him, and when he could no longer hide he really let someone else fight his battle with her. Up till the end he really took the easy way out. Enough that I almost couldn't say he really took a stand. Every time the story had him confront her he backed off, for the sake of keeping peace. Every time he pressed his wife if she was cheating, he backed off if she didn't really want to answer. Every time she belittled him he took it while waiting to see if she was going to leave him. And when she said she was going to continue to go out he passively found other things to occupy his time.</p>

<p>Just because he got out of the marriage by the end of the story didn't make me like his character. If it wasn't for the 4 nights with Cindy, and seeking a divorce I would have said that he "never really" stood up for himself, and the only real confrontation was when his date had to stand up for him. =(</p>

Harryin VA, I see you are in your usual form here, degrading people in your comments: “I see Morons like Bruce22 are already Missing the point. Good to know the stupid people are still in top form.” … As usual, you find it necessary to make fun of the characterization in this story to make your point, making it clear to all of us that only you can think clearly about storyline. At least your comments this time were few, and not nearly as acid as the norm for you. I don’t have a problem with your viewpoint on a story, but I do have a problem with the way you find it necessary to degrade people to make your view known. Many of the good authors here have learned to ignore your vitriolic comments and look for the good. Unfortunately, you also discourage talented authors with promise....... Questions: Can you write Harry? Or only criticize others while using words that imply that you are one of the few people on the planet who can write? I challenge you Harry to a public write off here in the LW category. I have never been published. Do you have the guts to take on this challenge and write a story for all to see? Or just all talk?

The problem is the husband Rich. Putting his foot down and saying <b>if you go the door WITHOUT panties on to fuck other men the mariage is over</b>... is a day late and a dollar short.

Rich seems to be PLEADING that his wife wear panties she is going out to whore around... fuck... get felt up..pretend she was single. .

Liked this as much as anything that you've written; although I thought he put up with Corrine about 6 months longer than he should have. Very good story

I enjoyed reading this story. There is one minor one thing that I don't understand. That is (though it doesn't really matter given the happy ending to the story),namely, what inspired Corrie to return home after she had left the house (and Rich) destine for the nightclub? What draw here back home!? Continue writing using the same strong emphasis on main points and your manner of showing the direction that the store's taking. You also added some welcome humor. RAG

Nice, believable story.

Perhaps Rich was a little slow to act on his wife's behaviour (note Brit spelling), but when she first explained that nothing more was going on, the words "trust but verify" come to mind. Gerry, the "Fifty Pound Friend" really doesn't earn his payoff. I'm sure he knew more than he was saying, but didn't want to drive off some of his entertaining attractions. Nonetheless, Rich finally does the only thing he can, and divorces Corinne. Maybe he should have done so sooner, but a marriage is not left lightly. No respect=no marriage. Anyway, I liked the story.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 15 years ago
Nice story of mentally ill idiots.

the husband is a bit slow on the uptake. I did take offense at the fifteen year age difference being to much. My wife and I are 21 years in age different and have been very happily married for 15 years. We have two kids and she could fuck a minks tail off. She met me, decided she wanted me in her life, left and divorced her husband eventually and married me after she had moved in with me. Hot little blondes are really fun if you know they really love you and no she never has fucked around on me.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 15 years ago
Sorry got to agree Harry as usual read it right.

She was already a town punch board. It was already to late for the marriage when he found out.

SleeplessinMDSleeplessinMDalmost 15 years ago
Although none of the characters were likeable...

but they were realistic. Rich is a wimp but sometimes wimps win out. Corrine and Judy are sluts. Neil and Cindy are fools. I have to agree with Risq and Harry that Rich never stood up for himself. Events like running into his wife while he was with Cindy just happened to free him of his loveless marriage. Everytime Rich got evidence that his marriage was a sham and you would think he would take action he sat there like a treefrog. Even when he catch Corrine acting like a slut Rich refused to discount her claim that she was not fucking around on him. Why change into slut clothes. Men do not like prick teasers so aomebody was getting "lucky" with Corrine. Rich packs his bags and leaves his house when he should have been throwing her out and changing the locks. Corrine came back because Rich was the cash cow. So the marriage was over but Rich just sat there (his big complaint was his meals). Bottom Line: We would not want any of these people over our house but we probably know people like those in this story. They are called losers.

TE_RossTE_Rossalmost 15 years ago
A Nice story

<p>This a was a good light read, with enough charm that it held my interest. The only letdown I had was wanting to know more about Corrine and her motivations. The way she vacillates with her husband, first denying activity, then being remorseful and feigning fidelity, then being belligerent and calling his bluff, and finally at the end being concerned over being caught; these behaviors dictated more explanation. Unlike the narrator and husband, Corrine is a complex character.</p>

<p>As for her husband, he confronted her as best he could given that he loved her. This husband is another in the long tradition of hapless husbands who discover a straying wife. These men really don't have a plan after the discovery, and if they do, I find it normally makes the story seem less realistic.</p>

Hmm good until you broke them up due to ages

He was over forty you dont say how much. At fifteen year she was about 25. Ten you married him to one with a four year old daughter and had them have a one year old son. This Angelica could have been as young as 21 but was at most say 35 when they met. Wow, that is a large possible age range. My wife and I are 21 years different in age and both of us were previously married. We have been married 15 years and have two children both under the age of ten. My oldest daughter is almost thirty. Tell me again about age difference, my wife works hard at keeping up with me most of the time, I am easy on her because she really tries.

Britease, congrats on another good story. Realistic characters caught up in life's quandary.

After reading the commentaries, I find it interesting that everyone of them chickened out at discussing Tom's character or lack of, I should say. It was my misfortune to have to assist and aide the the broken women and children caused by an endless string of abusive males. Trapped in a perpetual adolescence of narcissism.

As my wife said "These may be males but they are not men!"

After too many funerals of the abused women and children, I had to withdraw and get treatment for severe depression.

Oh, the BTB mob hates fictional female characters that act like the "Loving Wives" caricatures. But in real life those anonymousie commentators are the abusive creatures who think a manly fist to a woman's face is all the communication needed.

Set the cat amongst the pigeons!!!!!

How can you not love a story that has a line like that in it! Another good story from the Brit. But I do agree with another commentator - 15 years difference in age isn't too bad at all and could have been ignored. He seems to have ignored it with Angelica who has a very young daughter and now he has an infant, so he couldn't have been doing too bad a job "Keeping his end up". But the ending (albeit a little too quick for my liking) seems to wrap it up in a good way for all concerned. Keep writing!

It seems

that girls/wives nights out are a bad idea in the UK as well as the USA. Neither of my wives were/are into that, but I watched a neighbor sit home on Saturday nights while his wife was out partying. Since she did not have a job, I also heard tales about some of the things she did during weekdays. They were still married 15 years later. He might have put up with it because the alimony and child support would have done him in.

Terrible

I don't understand the high ratings. Your writing style, effort and story structures are good and enjoyable.

The biggest letdown arguably is the completely lopsided, trope-like "protagonists" who aggravate and alienate readers so much it destroys all the afore-mentioned positives.

Been through your LW library, honestly this trap is killing your writing. Seen a similar thing in other authors with literary "tells" - like one author who's "protagonist" always expels bodily fluids through some orifice as a shock and hurt reaction. Reading different stories where the guy pukes or shits himself as a theme is a detractor. Same concept here.

Emotionally gripping and gritty, dealing with the spectrum of emotional turmoil, can be excellently done by minimalism, without degrading the main character.

Ignore the negative comments. I thoroughly enjoy reading your stories. Write them to please yourself. Great library of work.

I just realized.

This comes very close to the story of a friend's divorce. She just wasn't ready to settle down and live an adult commitment. Neither is the wife here.

I agree with terrible.

If you didn't get what's wrong with these story, no amount of words will make you realize of it. It's sad. She was right about him being a wimp.

I don't know. The story line seems quite implausible and the characters all seem a bit retarded.

Still don't get it. Why do dumbass men think it is ok for wives to go to bars without them and drink and dance with strangers? If they think it is ok, then they deserve all maladies that come their way. And if a wife hides this behavior and hubby finds out, why is it not time for him to go nuclear ?

kind of a bit too long but good. Her thoughts about using her body are a mild? sluts. Nice to see his 1st. "date" didn't work out but another did. Tony's idea for his wife is disgusting, being forced instead wanting to share.

Brit, do you mind if I level with you? If you are with a woman and she speaks to you even remotely like Corrine then it really ought not matter if she is fucking around or not. Clearly Corrine didn't respect Rich even remotely. That often happens with infidelity but even if it didn't, what is the point of carrying on a charade of marriage just because a spouse hasn't fucked someone. Without respect there can be no intimacy or trust. You made the husband a dimwitted moron who comes across as big a pussy as Corrine thought he was.

Let's be honest this Dumbass deserved to be cheated on I mean FFS how stupid can you get

Loved his story. Corrine is a lost soul and wayward bitch. She got what she wanted. I was captivated right up to the happy ending.

So, we are supposed to believe Corrine just turned slut after 10 years of marraige. Uh uh, your dumbass MC must thought that. And Gerry was happy to take sloppy umpteenth seconds from Cindy. So much unbelievable shit in this story. Try again, from scratch!

NicealloverNicealloverover 1 year ago

I thought it was a fabulous story and it flowed nicely.. I’m glad Tom didn’t marry Cindy because it would be too cheeky as many of these happy endings are. I would have explored Carrine’s psychology more. She obviously had a serious problem with her thinking about her relationship with her husband and I would have explored her feelings and remorse for what she did. It is always sweeter to see the wife suffer for her transactions than just to see the husband’s recovery. We could have seen Carrine’s regret after the realization that she lost love and security for some cheap thrills. Then we could have watched her try to change and reform herself successfully or not.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Why did you make the husband such a spineless wimp - really hurt the story

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

I have read a couple of our stories and find that I like. Despite all of the negative comments I see keep up the good work. You can't please everyone.

Corrine, the self ritious bitch of a wife should have been thrown to the curb with nothing but the slut wear she loved to sport so much. But I will say also that he was a bit of a pansy ass to let her by with it in the first place.

Okay, but the ending was too quick
