I was really hating Steve for the doormat that he was. When his wife said she fucked her boss for a promotion, he should have brought the wrath of God to her. It ended up good for him in the end though. I would have liked to see him have a 'come to Jesus' meeting with his mom. That would have been epic. Although I don't believe he will have much to do with her in the future and her being alone will probably be a fitting life for her.

This comes as close to reality as I've read in a long time. It is easy for a husband to love his wife so much that he loses himself and lets her control their marriage. But when she goes too far something changes and he has two choices; divorce or murder. Both of these options were considered but he had good council and chose the most effective action. I almost gave up on this story early on owing to her actions but even worst his own mother's support of them. I think he was right guessing his mother's actions had been the cause of the parents divorce. Too bad he was raised by someone with that mindset.

I did continue with the story because I've come to appreciate all I've read from this author. I didn't like the story or end but it was well done so I rate it a 5 as I usually do and chalk this one up as a diversion from his usual stories

This wife may possibly have had a weak shot at an EEO case--if the EEOC had jurisdiction (number of employees in the company needs to be over a certain limit), the EEOC is little to the left of socialist Sweden; or in some of the more leftist commie pinko state EEO boards. But she has a real hurdle in trying to prove any harrassment by her boss based on what the author has given us. She decided to use her body to get an advantage in a promotion, and then choose tokeep on giving. No "put out or walk" from the boss here. And after the initial tryst, she voluntarily is the company whore. So she doesn't have much of an EEO case against management. She doesn't appear to have any claims against co-workers who assisted her in her choice to pull trains at a party. Only if she has an EEO claim can the husband possibly get anything from the company! And she has to recover in ordercfor himto do so. Given the facts of the story, it seems impossible that that husband and wife would cooperate in an EEO claim.

The idea that a company's "morals" clause gives any protection to the husband or any cause of actionby him is as big a myth an offer to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. Morals clauses are crafted by the company to protect the company's interests. Think about how foolish this would work out -- I hire you to work for me, but I insist on a clause in your contract of employment that says if you do bad things, I can fire you. (Just pick any kind of bad thing--bank robbery, treason, etc.) Some of the morals clauses can be unusual -- at the Coka-Cola Company, at least in the past, the employees couldn't drink (or more accurately, get caught) drinking Pepsi. Obviously, Coke didn't want the public to think Coke employees didn't like Coke. If you violate the morals clause, the company's remedy is to fire you or take some other adverse personnel action against you. This is what the morals clause is and does. It's to protect the company from having somebody who does bad thing (usually bad things that make the news) working for the company. Now imagine that your employer has a morals clause, but then adds to the clause, and by the way, if you do bad things, then I will pay money to anyone you've hurt, even though it may be off work, on your own time, and the company has no knowledge of the bad thing you are going to do or have done. So, following the story lines of the Lit. authors, the employee robs a bank (on his own time, no company assets involved). Then the stolen money is all burned when the red dye bomb inside the bag goes off. Per the Lit. Authors, the babk robber's employer is obliged under "the morals clause" to re-imburse the bank!

Now some of the more unusual stories here, as where a company is really just a criminal conspiracy forcing / blackmailing the wife into prostitution (the company whore stories) where the owner of the firm is the blackmailer, then the husband may have a cause of action.

But in most of these stories ( and I don't mean to single out this author, many, many Lit. Authors use this plot device), there is no basis for the innocnet spouse to sue and recover under a "morals clause"
