Great chapter!! I enjoyed reading all of it. I only wish the ladies would learn to set their limits a little bit lower when it comes to how much abuse they allow themselves to take, especially when the abusers are these rats of (ex-) husbands. There's one thing about being down-to-earth and another about allowing oneself to be stomped into the earth. And I really love the roles the younger girls are now playing. Mild irony that, as is stated in the story, THEY should be the protectors and the ladies the protectees. One never knows what can happen in life, and thus one never has too many friends. However, Jennie and Carrie, would you PLEASE reach out a bit more when you're in need? I love you dearly (for fictional characters), but for heaven's sake, I see too much of myself coming out through the ladies--and that is SCARY!!
