Thank god someone has a sense of humor on this site now and then. I'd sure like to meet this Rita gal. She's a winner!
Cheers,

Talk about lookin' on the bright side of life... very funny story. Well done!
Melba done run off wit' thuh undertakie. Dang, 'at's a real shame. In Texas, I reckon she'd be what we call a twelve packer because a man'ud still be too discriminatin' after only a six-pack. :D

Thanks for a funny story, LYG.
A well written story with a nice ending. Also funny as hell! LYG you are great at this, right up there with HDK. I like your style and look forward to more. Thank You!
demon than wife! That was a fun story. I have to say that when a reader compares your writing to mine, or vice-versa, I consider it a wonderful compliment! The humor in this story comes from the truth of the hero's situation, which is only slightly exaggerated. Don't most men feel like this guy, at least occasionally? Thanks!
And she moved her ass on uptown to the undertaker, a fertilization agent for dirt farmers. Now he already won the lottery with Rita, what in the world does he need that extra money for? Rita is a natural submissive woman who wants to be loved and appreciated. All of that extra money will just get in the way. If it would help you, I really need a hundred million or so to get this endeavor going that I want to do but just dont have the cash. If you could lend me the money I will repay you the million a year so that Rita doesnt really worry about you having money and ruining that relationship. What do ya say?
Melba (she was toast!) but at least he had a "Brand New Girlfriend."

He should take his ex to lunch someday (with the lovely Rita attending, of course - fawning all over him) for hominy grits and collard greens. And, of course, leave a couple of C-notes on the table for a tip.

It's always great to get dumped and wind up with a nice upgrade.

And anyway, the thing about Melba, well it ain't like her shit don't stink!

Fun story ... I assume you were sipping on something well aged and made with branch water - maybe a nice Wild Turkey Rare Breed.

This is just fantastic side-splitting fun. You are a great writer and yes you are in HDK’s realm. This story just lifted my spirits as it is so much fun and makes any hard day so much more vibrant as a real smile is contagious.
Thank you for such good dialogue and the sense of knowing there are still stories to read that make sense and are just great fantasies of a really quirky mind.
Oh, thank you so much.
PT
'LYG': Very nice work! Your story truly epitomizes this genre. There's a little of "Melba" and "Ralph" in every relationship.
I thought that crazy bitch was dead, but he gets to laugh in her face. Thank you for brightening my day.Luis
thank you for the twist at the end - appreciated the clever writing
A perfect example of the best revenge is a life well lived. Sounds like he already had more than millions with Rita. Having a lot of money is a good thing but it won't buy you the love of a good woman. I know. I had the woman before I had the money and it's an excellent feeling.
Several of your stories are great, some are no story at all. This one falls in the latter category. Sorry.
