I enjoyed this one. Sometimes you can work things out I think that is what you are saying with this story...He's not a wimp but maybe they can fix the marriage.

Well written story, but a lot of confusing gaps in the plot. Why did Ben not question wife when she said she had been out with Ann after Ann called to say she was out of town? Why was wife in jail?--are we supposed to guess? Why go have a ball in Memphis instead of confronting wife and resolving her unfaithfulness at Mardi Gras? Why stay with wife at all after her months of screwing around with multiple guys in the office. In a word --good writing-- poor plot. 60 year old George

Some (myself included) may feel you were too lenient but until you are there and experiancing it - maybe yes - maybe no.

None-the-less, I appreciate the consequence of his actions so far - although like others don't see any hope for repair of the trust or respect lost.

I really like this writer, but the story itself left me hanging.

1) He knew she was cheating and did not hire a detective or

try to find out? Even confront her?

2) Why was she in jail? Hooking?

3) Why would any self-respecting person (notice I did not

specify the gender) put up with cheating? We all have

heard people say they stayed together for the kids. I

understand that, and if they otherwise get along well, it

is not the worst decision you can make. But these two

don't have kids. If more spouses would divorce each

other for cheating, it might at least make them think

twice the NEXT time.

4) I really like this writer's style, just didn't like the

holes in this particular story. I would normally give

this writer a "5" and the story a "2", but that is not

an option.

You've improved in your use of the English language with time and experience. Congratulations! Now you need to develop the stories just a little bit more. Take the extra paragraph here and there to develop the story. That doesn't mean that you have to explain every nut, bolt, and screw. Even stroke stories, if well written, will leave food for thought to the reader in the wee hours of the morning. As for those who demand their pound of flesh, I will paraphrase a noted author in English Lit 101, "The Lady (Gentleman) doth protest too much."
