Totally unexpected. I didn't really like it. No one owns another. The premise was bad. One more thing. What were the children told? And who would want their father's sloppy seconds? I don't get it. Maybe it's me.

Two reasons.

1. Don't like the way Mia was treated. It takes a warped personality to treat another human being like that.

2. Stupid people annoy me. He stupidly says he never had reason to doubt his wife again. He didn't see it the first time so why should he see it the next time. Stupid man. The Pet is odd, but Sweetie is surely adventuresome! The rest of the story is odd and unrealistic...neither spouse seems to have ever heard of Abe Lincoln!

The story line of a wife coming out as a lesbian is plausible. That the self-centered husband doesn't have a clue is also plausible - even more so. That they get a divorce is plausible. That the ex-wife's lover of some years suddenly decides upon meeting the narrator that she likes boys - one boy anyway - better than women is not, especially when that boy is the ex-husband. After that I suppose it is plausible that she (Mia) would look for something better than a bitter middle-aged man - the only thing he would have more of than Billy is money - not sexual capacity, understanding, interests in common. Then the exes get together and "they lived happily ever after" Bah

read a cold and sick report about humans, than this is it. almost a bit like the final solution.

This was a story with a twist. I can see everything happening but not the continually passing mia around like a cheap pair of pants. That the husband let things get out of hand like this is just neither of them having their priorities straigth. I know that what happened in this story actually exists in the real world. The story is good though, even though there is reality in it. The reader has to see that Mia's husband got her out of her situation, and though his wife had taken her in, also knew something had to be done. Giving her to her husband wasn't right, but was right also. Releasing her to Billy was the way to go, and they both knew it.

I gave it a 5, due to both the context, and reasoning, and plot. Nicely done.
