...And finding yourself. I loved the characters, you developed them well, although I would have been interested in more of Charlie's background. The storyline has a warm, romantic feel, that gives a nice pacing to the story. I wonder how many transgender young men feel they must have been adopted, and what a lovely fantasy to find a birth mother to teach you and guide you through all the steps necessary to become a woman. Not sure you need one, but if you feel you might like to have an editor, please let me know, would be glad to help. With the few errors I saw, I think a just finding a 2nd set of eyes to read your story before publishing would take care of the the prob.
