...what people mean when they post, "Your story was good but your spelling/grammar mistakes were totally distracting." I actually quit reading on page 1.

I got beyond this one:

And this one:

But then ground to a halt at

"Seeing the half had cocks..."

Please keep writing but take more time to proofread, and/or get yourself an editor.

I got as far as this "sentence":

"She explained as she singled the barkeeper for a beer."

This isn't a sentence, it is a fragment; the word is "signaled," not "singled" (which would mean something like the 'first batter singled to left field.')

It appears some of you lack the gumption to replace the misspelt words with the correct words, and read on. More importantly, the author said English was NOT her first language. Have a little compassion for people trying their best.
