Well written and a roller coaster ride in itself. Loved the story and the unexpected twist at the end.
Make sure you keep up the writing and give your muse a kiss for her influence.

The suspense was done so very well it had me reading faster then usual to get to the outcome. It is indeed a very good story of the loss of ones love. It tugs at the heart and in my case brings back some similar happenings of my mind seeing what my heart would cherish, “Just one more Day”. Alas, it is just the memories wanting that one special instant to be again.
It was so well done and you really grab me and the twist was perfect.
Thank you for the great emotions you have brought forth.
PT
and laying the background knowledge at the same time. It took me a bit to grasp the twist at the end. I enjoyed the story very much especially his frustration in trying to get away to find Renee. I'm personally in a writing slump right now and can't seem to get out of it. I've decided to re-read some pieces, including yours. Thanks for sharing them.
Very enjoyable. You had me convinced that friend Matt had
absconded with Renée and then lost her to the other guy.
Death of young people always tears at the heart strings.
Actually more bittersweet. That kind of love can be both a curse and a blessing. Well done and interesting.

What a story. I like Jacks comment about a blessing and a curse. How true it is. Make one hope he finds happiness again someday.
Well crafted writing as usual. Looking for the dead wife? Please.
Well done!!!! What a terrific buildup to the explosive conclusion. Short sweet and complete. Please continue writing.
I felt for him as he struggled through the clinging "mud" to reach her. Then that very sad twist at the end. Very well done and thank you for it. Jim
It is difficult to follow why he reacts that way without some preamble - to let us see who he is and help know why he isn't dealing with the reality -
WTP writes some sad vignettes. Fabulous writer - wish he would write some more.
