How did they go from sitting in chairs facing each other, onto a couch, sitting close enough to kiss each other?

OK, I now realize that Anne was daydreaming about what she wanted to do to Kate. But it's not a lesbian story if Anne is daydreaming that she is a man fucking Kate. Lesbian means woman to woman strictly. Only a straight or butch woman would daydream about being a man to screw a woman, and Anne doesn't seem to be a butch. What an odd thing to think!
