AWFUL -- not even connected to chapter 1

I dont think I have ever seen a story with such promise collapse into the proverbial toilet as fast as this one.

This author favors reconciliation in MOST of his stories and MOST of the time that works.

here the author forgets what he wrote in chpt 1.

chapt2 opens with the idiot Husband - Drew- after learning he is dying from Cancer Blaming himself for the marriage breakup. But if you go back and re-read chpt 1 you will see that is well fucking ludicrous.

BUT as I stated in the feedback in chapt1 the wife after learning WHY Drew was so stressed out... that there might be layoffs... STILL continue to fuck Alan.

I never expected THIS author as skilled as he is to use THAT cliche... where the wife just had to have a good bye fuck and Big Cock and of course... wouldnt you know it?...THAT is when the husband is told or finds out about the affair.

Drew's Cancer is in all likelihood DIRECTLY related to Paige's long term emtional and sexual affair. The research is Over whelming between the connection of stress and Cancer rates.

Here is the Bottom Line. That old cliche defense does NOT work. When Drew was in trouble.. finally opended up to her ... and neeeded her help...Paige went back for 1 last good bye fuck with Alan.

and there is NO way to get around that.

Forgive her? Folks Paige's actions has probably killed him.

Good

Interesting set up. What does one do when they have such conflict within and also know they are likely to die. I liked it and am looking forward to seeing how the author handles it.

Why didn't she talk to her husband

Instead of letting some smooth talking hard cock nail her, why didn't she tell her husband that she needed sex, and needed it so bad that she is thinking of letting some other man fuck her. I'm sure that if he knew the whole story that her husband would have been more attentive to her.She was wrong to cheat, the lover was wrong for seducing her, and her husband was wrong for not paying any attention to her.

Well that was interesting.

I personally like the this chapter it is different from the first chapter the story has moved on. Paige is feeling what any normal human being feels when they have wronged someone. I will say of course hat I have never been involved in a divorce but I can probably imagine that both ex-partners blame each other or themselves for one reason or another. Drew wanted to read the wifes journals so he could find some closure well that back fired didn't it? I personally believe that there is no justification for cheating in a marriage and I would say the fact that Paige has no chance of getting back with Drew will probably be punishment enough, I know some readers on this site don't see divorce as revenge but honestly I would say if you have spent a long time with someone and then suddenly you can't spend any time with that person because you made a mistake then that is punishment. Anyway I don't see a reconciliation happening anytime soon, not that the husband has any time left anyway. But once again well written chapter.

Cliches and awards for cheaters

Yet again we see another of the “disasters from above’ cliché s (aka the ‘cop outs’) landing on a story - here in the form of a terminal disease of one of the characters in order to force some development. The thing is: you really don’t have to be dying to start talking with people who you care about.

Talking about clichés, what’s with “the- last- hooray good- buy- fuck –in –which- the- cheater- gets- caught”? It’s way overdue to retire to the non active home for worn out clichés…

The husband’ self flagellation when comparing his over worked schedule and lack of attention to his wife’s cheating is not only wimpy, it also does not makes any sense. Think about apples and oranges. In essence, he confuses problems which fall under the category of difficulties WITHIN the marriage and behaviors which BREAK or detrimentally undermine the very existence of the marriage. Stepping outside of the marriage and not paying enough attention to one’s spouse are by no means comparable. For example: if the husband avoids talking with his wife about their problems and the wife withholds having sex, you have two partners presenting with problems within the marriage without stepping out of it.

Portraying a spouse who has been betraying her husband for a long period of time while having an affair, as someone who could be a charming heartthrob for the dying ex husband was as attractive a proposition as inviting me to eat a dish of spoiled food… After all, instead of trying to talk with her husband about what she wanted from the marriage – even in terms of what a continued refusal to adopt a child might mean (seriously risking the future of the marriage), the wife chose to deceive and mislead the husband (the pills the efforts to conceive with the lover). And of course, let us not forget the loving act of going outside the marriage and have an ongoing affair…If that’s how this woman loves, god save those whom she hates… Now, with this host of attractive qualities we are supposed to somehow understand how this husband’s delusional thinking process had led him to the decision that for all that she had done to him his ex should be awarded with big fat prize. Be reminded - this is the one person who have hurt and betrayed him more than anyone else in his entire life! Chew on this lesson of practical reasoning for a while (but be careful not to choke) …

I liked it but...

Few of the things were awful like "giving a goodbye fuck to Alan". Drew must send her "journals" back with a note "that she is forgiven for her sin". It's good to get away from all the tension especially when you are DYING. They both are divorced now so she's a past now. Let by gones be by gones. Drew must live his ending days happily with Annie. What's the point in opening old wounds & hurting yourself. At this stage of his life he should live life to the fullest so when he's on deathbed he should not feel "Oh I didn't do this". LIVE EVERY MOMENT OF LIFE BECAUSE EVERY MOMENT IS SPECIAL ;-)

Extremely well written

The terminal illness makes it all more complicated. But you have to recognize that we are all in different stages of a terminal illness called life.

I even toyed with an alternative of where reconciling would be a form of revenge since he would hide his illness until the last minute and thereby increase the shock to her system.

But that is a pipe dream if he decided to take chemotherapy.

I really have no idea what the author has to put in the next chapter and look forward to it with interest.

I really do not understand a long and careful analysis of the story with a zero associated. Except I do remember giving Nici`s a big zero in the liking department, but I also gave it a 5 for the quality of the work. Perhaps we ought to have both grades on the board. One last observation, if I have no guilt attached to me when things go wrong, then there really is nothing I could have done about the occurrence. I really prefer to feel that I could have done something and learn for the next time around...

Not sure

what your title is referring to, Redemption, to atone for guilt? Is this referring to the main character or the cheating wife?

Agoodman954Agoodman954about 15 years ago
Very Well Done

There have been some interesting remarks made about this chapter by previous readers. Yes life is terminal, no one gets out alive, and yes there is a chance that the pure stress of finding his wife cheating him my have contributed to the onset of his illness. However the bigger picture in this story is what we do with our time. Squander it cheating on eachother. Waste it being vindictive getting revendge or do we rise above our imperfections and live for however long that is ... a second ... a hour ... a day ... a year... it's all a life time. He is going to die, as are we all, but death has tipped it's hand here. He has a chance to put thing right in his own mind ... in his own soul. The guy who get's hit by a car and killed thought he had plenty of time to put thing right and so he never did it. I'm not a big country music fan but there was a song a few years ago titled Live Like You Were Dieing... Mybe we should all do that. I look forward to the next chapter keep up the good work.

Excellent story

Well-written and good character development. Amazing. So many commenters seem completely hung up on whether there is reconciliation or not. Some guys here have only a narrow black and white world in which a cheating wife is a slut to be divorced with no sensitivity, love or understanding (was there ever any in that case), and if the guy forgives her then he is a wimp. Then there is good old Harryin VA who always tells us the story characters have to think and feel like him or the story is “fucking ludicrous.” Just a story folks. The endings can go in many directions and still be a good story if the characters bring out the ending. In fact, characters that act and feel differently than us give us a better insight and understanding of other people. Ignore the narrow-minded. Your stories are great.

Good Story but

Drew needs to confess that the real reason he wanted his ex-wife's journals was to be a voyeur, not for clorsure but for a hint of what had happened with her and Alan. Even as he is dying, he is still lying to himself.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 15 years ago
I like this

story as it seems so real but does not yet answer all my questions. Is he simply preparing for the end of things or has he some scheme to give the cheating bitch what I think she deserves. As for her "journals",when did she exactly write them, years ago or just a few days before she was going to meet her Ex?A good point in favor of the story is that it got a load of abuse from HIV,and that must be a good sign.I am looking forward to further chapters.

Interesting story but many questions....

Having read your efforts for a long time, it was a pleasant surprise to read this 2009 series. It can be assumed that this author does not typically craft "wimp husband/slut wife stories with outrageous reconciliations at any costs" type of stories so this is a new twist for this author. Without a doubt the ex-wife is simply another slut wife who disrespected her husband with little or no forethought. To be expected one could assume in this strange category. This particular husband character has inadvertently cheated himself out of a decent life by wallowing in self-pity over one of many of his poor choices & useless slut wife(s). Hmmm, it is hard to feel sorry for anyone in this story accept for Annie [current female character with psychological issues from a previous rape encounter]. Giving this author the benefit of doubt - we cordially wait for the final act or a continuation of stupidity in future chapters. Must say, this type of story surely beats the garbage that certain authors like; www or bonnietaylor spew from the depths of some back alley bar grease pit. Those friggin idiots need some serious professional help. Good luck author on your efforts. John

What the heck happened?

Hey, I'm a fan. I read Innocent Sins years ago and absolutely loved it! In fact, that story started me on the path to writing my own. So you can understand how upset I am with your current effort.

There is a complete disconnect between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. I thought I had inverted the pages and re-read the opening of Chapter 2 three times to make sure I was reading the same story. Obviously there was either some lapse of time between both chapters, or you failed to re-read chapter 1 to ensure both consistency and flow. You threw Annie into the plot without suitable warning and then in chapter 2 you dumped Paige into the lunch meeting in such a manner that I was totally confused by her entrance. Were there separate authors for each chapter or different editors?

Please note that I appreciate your story concept and theme around redemption. However, your execution is woefully lacking. You need an editor, pronto!

Questions Abound

Before that though, a comment: Drew did NOTHING wrong. The whore is ENTIRELY at fault. I hope we don't get a bunch of ridiculous soul-searching by Drew in the next chapter.

Did they ever solve Alan's death? Presumably the penalty for fishing in someone else's backyard had severe consequences. Most men would insure that.

Why in the world would Drew want ANY happiness for Paige? She willingly wrecked EVERYTHING. Hopefully he'll post her diaries on the web, or write a movie and make some money off them.

Skilled Writing Strange Plot

As a new reader ,I was very impressed with the writing skill you displayed. The only minor point that I could not understand is why he did not tell Paige about his terminal illness. He confirmed that she had copy of his will wwhich mystified her, but then never explined why he wanted to be sure that she had this info. Made no sense.

Very good so far but I fear the ending will suck

I have very much enjoyed the quality, the style, the character development, and the plot direction. But I fear reading the ending. The wife has been shown to be the worst type of slut, lying to her husband so that she can screw a different cock. Not because of any fault of the husband, just because she wants to. Now it seems like she is going to be rewarded for her shitty behavior. Please make me wrong, please.

Sorry, but this is starting to feel like a RAAC story... Reconciliation is fine, but not when she admitted being in love with another man..... Hope he stays divorced and moves on before the anger kills him before the C does....

Husband and wife are supposed to be a team...

They're supposed to have each other's back; when one spouse fails to meet the standard as a loving husband or wife, then the other "covers" for them. Carries them along, loves them more and watches out for them, forgiving and excusing their lapse until they get back to where they should be - because they love them. They don't run out and grab someone else because their spouse hasn't kissed them enough, had sex with them enough, dinner out, or a lengthy vacation.

A true loving spouse can spot something's wrong right away and then work at finding out what the problem is and how they can help. Everyone, anyone, can become preoccupied with their work life or other things from time to time, many times not even being aware of it. Your spouse is supposed to understand that and be faithful and loving until the problem is corrected.

Instead, this wife took her troubles to work and shared them with some cad that only wanted in her pants. Too stupid or arrogant to recognize the signs of seduction, too selfish and proud to work on their problems with her husband, she chose - CHOSE - to share her concerns with a handsome guy at work. Seeking approval and validation for her anger and aloof behavior in her marriage, she got what she wanted.

She was lying to herself in her journals when she recorded she was horrified at her behavior. We know that, because she kept doing it over and over. She obviously blamed her husband for not having a baby, probably thought his swimmers weren't getting the job done because she fantasized about carrying her boyfriend's baby. She lost respect for husband and pushed him away. Sure, buyer's remorse caught up with her eventually, but she gets no credit for that.

I hope this doesn't end in a reconciliation, but it probably will. The husband now has cancer so he'll probably need help in the future - maybe he's thinking his ex-wife should provide it since she's going to get his life insurance. Don't know, but I'm sure the ex will offer. Ahhh, who knows? If staying with his ex while he dies makes him happy and brings some resolution to his life, then more power to him. She deserves to watch him waste away.

The usual cuck rationalizations

"...perhaps my failure to be what my wife needed had led her to fall to temptation. My refusal to attend counseling or give Paige a second chance after her affair had also weighed heavily on my heart that night, but what was done, was done. There was no going back."

False moral equivalence and blame spreading. A six month betrayal, considering palming off the Bastard's child as her husband's...but the author tries to obfuscate the horror of what she did by writing endlessly about her second thoughts, inner conflicts, etc. The bitch IS what she did. Probably the worst part of this is that the Martian Slut Ray is in play. There's no really motivation for what she did. First loving wife, then, presto! A cheating slut because he kisses well.
