"I can live with that."
And they lived happily ever after.
Or did they?
Would love to see your version of the story line continued, or maybe some other fine writer take up the mantel. I do love the characters you have created, though they remain unfinished somehow. I also find it odd that Sammi had no one to counter any storyline, the ones who benefited from her death the most had yrss to doctor whatever proof they wanted to be produced in order to best fit their narrative.
Familurality brings ease of exesuptance. She will fail, because of her work situation. The closeness is to much to overcome, work wife-husband is a new term. Work hours are know longer defined, as 40 they are more like 60 to 80 for driven people. Hence daycare centers and the resurgence of city living. Our subject here lives in a suburbs with her husband in a house with a pool. So I imagine she commutes to work. Late hours high salary people are often given the opportunity to stay local rather than drive home when aproject keeps them into the wee hours of the morning and like soldiers a good top level employee keeps a go bag for just such occasions. No she is sunk. Or should I say Fucked!
Boy I just hate great stories that end like this, when it's only half done. Did she cheat again, and if she did, did he go do her mother again? And the big question did he get an DNA test on the boy? Has it really his? On and on so many more questions..
I liked it, but would have wanted to see another chapter written about their life 2 or more years later, after the daily grind of having a child to take care of and having a working husband gone most of the day.
I guess I figure out why she killed herself if she did everything willingly. Otherwise a good story. I would like to read if they did make it.
You left a few open questions in your story but we all know you like to do that to us. And besides, it adds a realness (is that a word) quality to a group of really screwed up people that you created. Read this before, hell probably 2-3 times, its been out for 10 years, but I needed a dose of JPB and this filled the bill.
Thanks again Bob. Looking forward to your next offering.
