Love the story. Character development is in-depth and they have breath. Mother does not need Doug. Doug appears to have a double standard for women. What little had been discussed/written about Doug, mother would spiritually die being married to Doug. She is a self-aware woman who Ican not see compromising her emotional and mental being.
