"I mean really Mark," Alex continued; "She wigs out and then can't take a few jokes, and now I'm a prick." He grunted. "You know you don't have to thank me for helping, but don't treat me like an asshole in my own place."

Mark started to say something but I spoke up.

"Let it go Mark," I said quietly. "Alex is right, it's my fault I... I wasn't myself last week and I turned it into more than it was." I took a shot of my own at throwing Alex off. "I don't blame him for busting me up I acted like an idiot, he knows there's nothing going on it's my fault for being stupid."

"It's not your fault sis," Mark said. "You're under a lot of stress and someone," Mark glanced at Alex. "Doesn't need to rub it in."

"Yeah Megan," Alex said. "It's not your fault, it never is." He shook his head. "Funny how Mark has no patience for anyone but never blames you for anything. Nothing is ever you, it's everyone else. You're just a tragic tale that everyone picks on. You're a mess because you're ...."

"She's what?" Mark snapped.

This time there was enough of a threat in his tone that Alex did step back from him as he came forward. Mark's hand came up quickly, and I cringed, thinking he was going to try to hit Alex. Alex's right hand came up just as fast as my brother's catching the top of Mark's hand as it was coming up and holding it there.

"Easy Mark." I felt a surge of relief as Alex sounded calm as he spoke. "I was just going to say she's having a hard time because she's doing the right the thing and staying away from the bar and the other shit. That's it."

"No Alex, there was more." Mark said, and suddenly whipping his hand out from underneath Alex's, brought it around and towards his face.

This time Warner's left hand snapped up and stopped directly in front of Mark's. My brother's finger stuck into Warner's palm and I relaxed a bit as I realized he was only going to stick his finger in Alex's face. I was once again amazed at how fast Alex was, the only person I had ever met that whose hands were as fast as Mark's.

"There was more," Alex continued still speaking very calmly. "I was going to say suffering from withdrawal. And honestly that's no one's fault but hers. But you never seem to think that." Alex pushed my brother's hand away and finished; "You're more in denial about her problems than she is."

"You know she's sitting right there don't you?" Mark asked his eyes widening.

I had to do something; Mark was getting worked up and Warner's remaining calm was fueling his frustration, and I had no doubt Alex knew that. As I prepared to move the covers and get up, I realized that my night shirt was up around my hips. I started to push it down, and then stopped as an idea leapt into my mind. No I couldn't .... Oh what the hell! Before I could change my mind, I tossed the covers off the bed onto the floor. As I knew they would Alex and Mark both turned at the movement.

"Meg!" Mark snapped and pointing down instantly turned his back to me.

I looked down.

"Oh shit!" I exclaimed in mock surprise.

Not only was the night shirt up to my hips, but I had swung my right leg down onto the floor leaving my pussy partially exposed. I stayed there for a moment, as if frozen, giving Alex a chance to get a good look before, with an obvious effort, he also quickly put his back to me. I immediately brought my leg back up onto the bed, and lifting my hips pulled the shirt back down.

"I...um." I stopped, and honestly a bit upset I had given Alex a look, especially after that dream found myself blushing; "Sorry about that." I added lamely

"Don't be." Alex said. I could see his face in the mirror and could tell he was trying not to laugh. "Hell I've been trying to get you to show me for years I'll take what I can get."

"Glad I could make your day." I said rolling my eyes.

"You did, that's probably the first pussy he's seen that he hasn't had to pay for in months." Mark said as he turned around.

"Hey look," Alex said turning back around as well. "Just because I occasionally help out a young coed doesn't mean I'm paying for it."

"If you did it after, it's a favor," Mark said. "In advance it's prostitution."

"Oh really councilor?" Alex asked. "And how is it that you paid for your books last semester?" Before Mark could answer Alex continued; "Oh Robin may I rub your feet? What's that? Wear the shirt you just bought me? "You want me to take you how? Oh yes ma'am."

I laughed out loud, as when Alex had finished, he had put his head down, and looking up put on a perfect imitation of the shy little smile that Mark would conjure up for Robin who I had seen him with at Mitch's. I always got a kick out of watching Mark act like that with her and Alex had hit it dead on.

"Whatever." Mark said shaking his head. "I'd rather be paid for it then pay for it."

"Paying for its better. You make them..."

"Umm do you mind?" I asked.

"Sorry." Alex said then looking at Mark sighed and said;

"Okay listen Mark I don't want to fight with you, either of you. We're all in this together." He put his hand on Mark's arm.

"Besides you got that test tonight and you need to be relaxed so let's just forget about all this shit okay?"

"You're the one that needs to drop it Alex." Mark said simply. "I'm putting Megan through enough you don't need to chime in."

"Look Mark, I'm only joking okay? Megan says you were talking you were talking. I mean I understand you guys have been through a lot and like to talk."

At this I saw the smirk start to return. Mark had been looking my way, and I gave my head a quick shake hoping he would get my meaning and just let Alex go for now.

"Hell," Alex continued; "You guys talk all the time and I think that's great. I really do, that your that close." Alex gave a mock sigh and added;

"Wish I had a big sister I could talk to that way."

With that Alex turned away from us. I looked up into the mirror and saw that he was smiling broadly. I was relieved that my little show had stopped the argument, but felt my head begin to pound. Alex had no idea I could see him in the mirror and that smile was genuine; he knew. I looked at Mark who had that blank look in his eyes again. Mark shook his head then glancing over at me said;

"I'm going to go for that run, think I could use it. Why don't you go back to sleep Meg? You must be tired."

"Yeah kind of." I told him as I pulled the covers back over me and slid down into the bed.

"Shouldn't stay up all night talking then." Alex said from the doorway.

Mark didn't say anything, but simply walked past him, going out into the living room where he turned to wait for Alex.

"Hey Megan," Alex began as he started to close the door.

"What Alex?"

"If you ever want to talk let me know," He winked. "I'm a great listener."
