In the first chapter you describe Alison as being a successful fiction writer but in this chapter she talks about running her own business and having her staff do exactly what she wants. The only fiction writer I know of who had staff jumping to her beck and call was Barbara Cartland and she was born into a wealthy family and a world of servants. I know several fiction writers in the fantasy/sf genres and they all work by themselves. This appears to be the kind of continuity mistake that a writer should take pains to avoid. Otherwise, a pretty good story.
