Woody another great start to a wonderful tale. Keep up the wonderful work and thanks for sharing
The stories that I enjoy reading are like what you write. Being able to paint a clear picture in my mind's eye about what is going on is what keeps my interest. Having been in the area you write about in this story, I could see the trail and the spring, the smoke alerted me that something was not right. Bravo, for being able to paint with the use of words. I look forward to finding more of your stories.
but you only get four stars**** for letting Zach shoot that horse. With known raiders in the area he would never let off a shot and let enyone in the area know where he was. He would have pulled his knife and slit the horses throat - a lot more blood, but a hell of a lot safer.
You spin a good yarn, sir. I don't know what I like best: the way the story moves along quickly, not getting bogged down with too much detail, but enough to See the country and Know the people, or the surprising twists in the plot. It's all good. And a G rated story is So refreshing, thanks for your posts here.
