Very good story!

I guess women do rule, don't they?? This was a really fun, enjoyable read!

Fair story, to much mary poppins.

And yes women do wake up mad after dreams and so do men, been there done that. Actually it would seem Susie knew the swede was going to be there in the cat costume and prewarned her hubby to stay away. And she did imply she knew her friend was having an affair and had talked to her about it. Never forget, friends of a feather flock together.

One small, but hilarious error

I think you meant that our lumberjack hero was wearing a toque (a knitted cap). A toboggan would be a little tough to put on one's head. The balancing alone, especially when dancing, would be a bitch!

Another good story other than that tiny error. Great work!

Bullshit

It's a sad day when the "GREAT" DG Hear condones adultery. This one will be overrated like many of his other postings. His storys can always depend on other writers for a high mark just as he gives high marks for storys submitted by others. No matter how bad. It must be a club thing. Comments will say things like 'Wonderful'. 'Great'. 'Awesome'. This story was okay but the comments will make me want to vomit.

ProfWriterProfWriterover 16 years ago
To Bullshit Anonymous

Other writers give DG high marks because, unlike you, they are judging his writing ability and story lines, not whether or not they agree with his morals, his characters, his personality, his lifestyle or what type of soft drink he consumes.

Great story!!

There are bigger issues here UNRESOLVED

DG I have to tell ya I didnt like it ...

I see what you are trying to do and you do it well... the party scene where guys discuss the difference between men and woman... and how this Guys's wife has a more subtle form intelligence. That all works really well.

But here is my problem. The wife KNOWS one of her friends is cheating. She doesnt tell her own husband. Instead the stress / knowledge the wife has manifests itself in one of her dreams where her husband is one cheating... with the wife the one being cheated on....

so HE catches hell from her about it? You have to be fooking kidding me.

Such behavior goes way beyond the typical "woman have their own ways of doing things /communicating and we are all a bunch of dumb ol stupid Husbands/men."

But this guy IS in fact Just this STUPID. The sticking for me is that fact that this guy over looks the wife's manipultions and concealments. In fact the whole relationship seems VERY one sided.

Finally given the way you develops this husband's character IF the wife was the one cheating does anyone think that THIS guy would catch on?

I dont. I think this wife could tell him a 1 pound jar of cow shit is a actually Honey... and this guy would pour it on his bowl of corn flakes.

Very realistic

Quite a good tale, largely eschewing sexual content in favour of realistic drama, but that final line really seems out of place.

Good fun and a little different from DG

Very well done. It is a bit different, has some real fun as to how many husbands experience life with their wives and the upside is she is innocent and he explained his conclusions away. All of this makes for a great reading experience.
I love the way these crazy comments don’t take the story at face value but have to put their own twist of uncontrolled fear that their ego may have been besmirched some how. Maybe an arch-rival may have sullied her pussy and the hero will lose her as the outsider is better in bed. Oh woe is me!!!!!!
Thanks for the entertainment.
PT

FYI on toboggan hat

In Southern American English, toboggan can also refer to the type of hat known elsewhere as a tuque, a ski hat, or a beanie. Sometimes this is shortened to boggan or lengthened to boggan cap. Hope this clears up the toboggan comment below.
I liked the part about choosing the restaurants - sounds awfully familiar.
I enjoyed the read - liked that gal from Sweden. I think she deserves her own story.

I resonate with yur men's comments

When the guys began to describe how women manipulate their husbands, I just had to laugh. My wife does ALL of those. After many years of mariage I have adjusted and learned how to counter each one. I never hardly win but she and I have a good laughing discussion about her 'quirks'. Then she points a few of mine out. Of course she is wrong to think I have any quirks. Loved the story. Your a favorite author.

All the comments

the men in the story were having about comparing a man's life to a woman's life (white t-shirt, shaving only face and neck, one mood, etc.)are in a circulating email joke I must've received five times in the past 6 months....every one of them. So, I didn't believe them to be too original. The rest of the story was good.

Another Plus +

Having said again how much I enjoy the Author lets talk about Harry.

I don't remember ever agreeing that commenters should write their own story to show us how it's done but Harry - your irritations are becoming insufferable.

If you want a vanilla story without any equivocations that prove humans have flaws then you should either write your own or understand that a story must have some problems for there to be a story whether it be marital consequence or other human interest story - or you could just quit embarrassing yourself trying to communicate with rational humans with your strange non-intelligible dialects.

Mongolian interpreters that were raised in Latvia then schooled in France seem to be the only people who understand what you are trying to communicate although by consensus they don't agree with you.

Sorry Author - you and your work are appreciated as well as looked forward to.

With Very High Regard

Neat story!

Well-written, only one or two typos, good satire, fairly believable scenario. My only issue with our hero is the drinking. Why should a reasonably-intelligent man drink so much that his wife must bring him home and leave him in the car to sleep off the booze?

Wow! all the arguing going on about this cute little story. Wait till tomorrows story comes out. 'Ouch!' I can feel it already. There is going to be a lot of arguing going on.

I write stories because I enjoy it. I just write about things I know and things I think up. I too get e-mails with cute jokes and try to include some of them in my stories along with some I make up myself. When there are thousands of stories out there you are bound to read some of the same things over and over.

I want to thank everyone who has commented both positive and negative. I truly enjoy the feedback. I do try to give you my best. I realize my best isn't enough for some readers. That's why God invented the back button so you don't have to read my story if you don't want too.

My commenting on other authors stories. I only commplement if I mean it. I'm sure my friends who are writers do the same. If I don't like a story, I won't vote on it. I'm not out to hurt any other writers. Most of us try and give you our best.

Thank you for reading my stories

Fascinating commentary!

DG - I laughed when I read the part about the wife's dream. I remember years ago I was dating my first "real" boyfriend. We'd been together for maybe two years and very much in love. But one night I had a dream that I was walking down the beach, met a strange man and the man began flirting with me. My boyfriend appeared and started saying stuff like "ole!" and "go for it!" I woke up extremely pissed off at my boyfriend, and stayed mad almost the entire day - and the poor guy hadn't done a thing.

As to Harry's comment that the wife should have told her husband or others about her co-worker's affair, I would have to disagree. This is a personal decision that each person would have to make when faced with such a situation. Maybe the wife only suspected some hanky panky. Or perhaps she knew for certain but also hoped it would blow over very soon. Or yet again, she may have felt it was not her place to go about gossiping about others.

As to the interplay between this particular husband and wife. The husband sounds pretty content in his marriage. It might not work for some men, but it seems to be working for this guy. So he puts up with what he considers some zaniness or manipulation? In return, he has what appears to be a mostly happy marriage. Wife loves him, he loves her. Isn't that the point after all? He's happy, she's happy and the kids are happy too.

Fun story DG.

I always enjoy your stories. They are typically original and normally erotic and/or funny. My only minor criticism is the typical habit of having the husband drink too much and do stupid things. But that's life. Even you can't be perfect.

I loved this story

I did not understand many of the comments, but then I rarely read others comments. I thought it was funny, sexy, and romantic. It was also very, very real. Loving someone and living with them is a dance and as the song says, sometimes we lead and sometimes we follow. You captured it well. Oh fyi, this is from someone who has been happily married for over 20 years to the most amazing person I know, and has three wonderful kids. What is life without a sense of humor...nothing at all. Thanks, I thought it was one of your best. Michael

Very Fun Idea

Great concept. Loved the idea of the wife getting mad at the husband for something HE did in HER dream. Thought the execution was a bit choppy, and really didn't need to read through the section which was simply a list from an email that's been circulated ad nauseum about why guys are superior. That section brought my overall rating of the story down...

Cute Story

My only problem was the dream business. While it worked in the sense of making him keep his distance from Victoria, the idea that a reasonably intelligent woman would be mad at her husband because he cheated in HER dream is absurd.

Fairly accurate

All woman have a superpower that men don't. The amazing ability to become angry at you for something they dreamed! To call it irrational would be to do it a disservice. More like insane! Hell, a woman can get angry at you for doing everything exactly right, because you take away her excuse for yelling at you!

Funny thing is, as insane as they are, men are MORE insane, because WE LOVE THEM, insanity and all!

Global market

I remember watching comedian Patrice O'Neal, on Fox news years ago, going toe to toe, with a feminist about feminism, and I remember she said that because of the "Global market", where women are the major consumers and spenders, that society has to conform to that economic endeavor, in comedy, politics, social matters, entertainment, marriage, etc. where certain things that were considered "traditional" were cancelled towards any group whose financial expenditure is lesser than women's expenditure. Because woman, now have the financial power, organizations such as LW, have brought about stories where the MCS' (main male characters) have been feminized and, cuckold stories have lately, been the prominent stories on LW'S website. The financial markets determines what stories are on LW'S website.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

AnonymousAnonymous11 months ago

I have just read the ‘Global Market’ comment, what a pile of steaming, male bovine excrement, mind you, I should have been warned on the first line, when I read that it was on ‘Fox News’, probably the worlds number one source for said excrement.

For the record, when the toilet seat debacle raised it's head, I said, if I take three leaks, I'll be raising it, then lowering it, up and down, up and down... for her to come in and sit down and not do a thing. I wasn't doing the chicken dance. If I could raise it, she could lower it. You know, equal rights and all that.

She got obstinate about it, so next time I just pissed on the seat and left it there.

No more arguments on that one.

Now if I can only work out how to handle all the other bullshit.

He thinks that his wife is crazy? The man who gets into trouble/fights when he drinks too much, yet goes out and drinks too much, he even knows that he has had too much, yet keeps on drinking, thinks that his WIFE Is crazy????

AnonymousAnonymous3 months ago

Mad at you because you cheated on her in her dream. *ALARM BELLS RINGING* *RED FLAGS WAVING* Run, dude. Run! My first thought is this is some ploy because she's cheating (ended up being wrong although it was in the ballpark). Then again she seems certifiable so who knows. In any case, her apparent lunacy made it a bit difficult to invest in her as a character.

Anyway, so he goes to the party, naturally there's a cat woman just as the dream said (of course there is), and he keeps drinking more and more beer despite knowing he could get himself into a pickle by being too drunk. His wife may be crazy, but this guy is fucking stupid. They make quite a pair. An intelligent man wouldn't get himself drunk in that kind of situation. Right? Am I the crazy one? :)

In the end, it seems like Susie was just covering her bases as she was covering for her cheating friend. A wife that covers for a cheater... yeah that's never good. Then again, it seems Brad has cheated as well so I guess they're all just cheating assholes. If I found out a friend was cheating I would cut all ties. Sorry, I don't want to associate with someone that would do that to someone they claim to love. Sue me.

As for the last line, it seemed unnecessary. Kind of like a question mark appearing in the credits of a movie a few seconds after "The End" shows. Yeah, I know, you say she didn't cheat but after all that the husband is certainly going to wonder a lot and be more paranoid.

AnonymousAnonymous3 months ago

Good story. The male commiserate talk was hilarious. The last line was a bit odd, until it became clear that people at the office knew Ray was cheating and they had their mo ey on it being Suzie for whatever reasons. But as the author pointed out. They were wrong. She didn't cheat and even more so she seems completely faithful. Communicate. Meanwhile hubby got too trashed at thr Halloween Party. Dude know how to regulate.
