i hate to be overly critical, but given how she isn't exactly used to relating to introverted/less confident guys, how would she know to tell him not to overanalyse? i mean, it's nice how you let her empathize with him, but it seems somewhat unlikely that she'd figure out he was thinking that at the time.. otherwise a nice story, though

I was a geek, though we didn't learn that word for several decades. One delightful girl took the trouble to get me through Theory of Heat Engines, but I didn't know how to go any further. I met my Emily some years later on another continent in another language. Worth waiting for? In spades! THis great, sympathetic story brought it all back. Thank you for a lovely story.

you got exactly how a geekish guy thinks to a tee. i am glad i read it... though id like to know what happens next with them. i could see this turning into a novel type of story if worked right... and with your ability it would work out i think.

I thought this was a very good story, nicely written and intelligent. It shows a sensitivity to somebody else's feelings and a willingness to make a connection that is almost completely lacking in most women's behavior.

What I've seen in my life is, women are concerned with mostly how they look. If it ever occurs to 99.99% of females to do anything except show up somewhere and stand around looking snooty, I haven't seen it.
