The ability to construct grammatical sentences is not the same thing as being able to write a story. These first three chapters are anecdotes, not tales, and they don't build tension very much. I like the characters, but the grapefruit incident falls flat.

the SAT scores you put in the story are not possible, only multiples of 10 between 200 and 800 are possible. no big though
