Bill, unlike your otheer "admirers", I am old enough to have had 50 year+ very close friendships, deaths of spouses (two to cancer) and the grief and emptiness that follows those losses, and ED that makes me wonder about the sexual satisfaction of my third wife, so I find this a fairly realistic story. With the exception of a 70+ year old man that can get it up twice on each occasion, much less a resounding third time, giving Bill the opportunity to discover them, this makes relatively good sense, but that sexual "prowess" reduces this to a 50%er story, or if it happened to you in "real life", it should be referred to Ripley's "Believe It Or Not", which none of these young jokers would remember anyway.

The stories were good.I am in this age group and married 50+ years.I don't believe I could have stood it and probably would have walked out.It might work out for others though.

As someone approaching that age, and already someone who has plenty of ED issues and my wife..doesn't... well, to be honest, I thought these two stories were quite nice. Yeah, maybe it was a little too 'easy' on solution but on the other hand, to say it's not true out there..well, it is true. Frankly, I could see how it would happen especially if the husband and wife were close enough for him to sense these things. Second, I've seen 'friends' be 'too chummy' like this (teasing etc) that eventually got 'carried away'.

I do know two couples (older, in early 60s) that from time to time share their spouses with each other. And so far (maybe six or seven years now) it seems to work. And I do know one guy who lost his wife who has been welcomed into bed by a female friend whose husband 'knows' (w/o a lot of interaction).

The story itself still has some appeal and is good. Maybe a little too much back and forth and maybe not enough 'into her head' but to be honest, I like this one...and to be honest I like it more than the author's other stories. Course I'm nearing 60 so...smile

I thought that Ch, 1 was excellent and that the author should have left it at that, disdaining to do a Ch, 2. Unfortunately we have been presented with a Ch. 2 whcih is completely unrealistic given the way the characters were developed in Ch. 1.<P>Bernie and Bill were married for almost 49 years. Presumably the marriage was monogamous since the author doesn't indicate otherwise. Nowhere in the story is there any indication that the couple is anything but loving and giving to each other. There is no mention of thoughts or deeds of sharing, swapping, or infidelity of any sort until Bernie's fall from grace. The first chapter left us with a guilt stricken Bernie who was an emotional wreck which is what a reader would expect of a 70ish wife who has committed adultery after almost 50 years of a chaste marriage.<P>Nothing in the second chapter is remotely believable because the author hasn't taken the time to develop his characters so that their further actions would be understandable. It would be much easier to accept the ending if BLBones had suggested that Bill had been screwing Ron's wife for the last decade or so before her death or that Bill was jumping the bones of the widow down the road or anything else to express that Bill dabbled in an occasional deviancy. Establishing some guilty feelings in Bill would have made the ending one of 'tit for tat' and much more believable.

[2] When initiallty told, Bill was upset for a few days......then he informed both of them that he and Natalie had secret trysts for years unbeknownst to them..again hypocrisy prevailed...[3]Bill tells his wife it's ok to fuck Ron but he wants to know ahead of time every time...that way he gets a free card to fuck whoever he wants...again hypocrisy prevails as she gets upset with that idea..and [4] Bill allows his wife to fuck Ron...she reacts one of two ways...she nows feels more love than ever for Bill as she now realizes just how much Bill loves her to allow her to do this...and therefore never does it again...or she reacts disdainingly as she realizes Bill just doesn't care for her as before and has grown indifferent.

I would like to give this a grade between 25 and 50. Not possible so I'll round it up to 50 out of respect for your effort, your reasonably-clear writing, and your willingness to tackle an unpopular idea (unpopular based on the comments, at least). Leaving one's fantasies aside, the real test for a spouse should be the golden rule -- you know, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." How would Bernie feel if Bill fucked around on her, because her sex drive was simply not up to his? "Devastated" is the usual term I've heard bandied about. Well, the majority of males during the first 2/3 of marriage (assuming marriage at a young age) are much more highly sexed than their female partners. So it's OK to console the widow next door? The idea that Bill would subscribe to this philosophy, as was so aptly pointed out by other readers, is totally contrary to his development in the first part of the story, such part being far better in so many ways than part 2. If Bernie is so highly sexed, then why is once every six or eight weeks with Ron enough to put out her fire? I mean, if Bill is not doing it for her, surely she needs Ron much more frequently. And we know Bernie would eventually have loving feelings towards Ron that would certainly interfere with her relationship with Bill. The entire premise of this second part was disappointing and difficult to "swallow."

What struck me wrong about this story was how it tried to be have both a loving cuckold and a faithful husband. When a wife cuckolds her husband and he accepts it it is usually the wife or lover dominating the husband. When the husband catches the wife cheating and demands justice they either establishes their fidelity again or part company. In this story, the husband catches his wife and "best friend" cheating on him so he has the brillant idea to let them keep doing it. He accepts the fact that he can not satisfy Bernie so he lets Ron come to assist him. where it is revealed that Bill is OK with all of this because he has a little something going on the side as well. LOL! I wish that the emotional confrontation hadn't merely reduced Bernie to disbelieving tears. It made her seem more false in character. Her inner monologue led us to believe that she knew what she was doing, and she was getting what she wanted. She should have been a stronger personality type as relates to her communication with Bill- her best friend and lover for half a century. That is why after the betrayal, I wish that she had done more to assure Bill of her true love for him, and not only express mere gratitude for caving in and allowing the extra sex. I would have liked a few scenes (even if brief descriptions) where the MARRIAGE was emphasized, like maybe on a trip ,or romantic weekend alone. A scenario where she was able to give herself completely to Bill, and she realizes the sex with him is even better, (as it is based on 50+ years of love and commitment). Those extra plot points could have helped to insure that her character remained more likable and empathetic. However, the sympathy sex angle for a dear old friend didn't achieve this, as it seemed to devolve into a border- line humiliation exercise. At first they both seem so concerned for Bill's feelings, but overtime become careless, and allow themselves to be "caught" when Bill comes home from work at his REGULAR time! OK, THAT plot point CAN work in this story, but I question the author's motives when IT is included to the exclusion of dialogue that would reaffirm the original marriage contract. The theme is less satisfactory, when instead of "hey, these are mature adults who arrived at an evolved understanding of friendship and love", we as readers are reduced to the take home message of "since Bill finally learned to accept sloppy seconds in his wife's recently stretched out pussy, we all lived happily ever after". While not out of place on this site, I feel like this author, in particular, could have done a lot better. And BTW, I never got the feeling that neither Bill NOR Ron were as happy in this situation as Bernie was. All the more reason, (especially when narrated from her POV), why the weaknesses in her character development demonstrated the greatest flaws in this tale.
