Is this story believable? Well yes, probably. It certainly was action packed.

What I was thinking was Helen's earlier affair with her husbands colleague, Jack Fallon. I thought the final segment of the story would concern that, as well as the consequences of what had happened to Helen during the honeymoon in terms of her feelings through her husband: sexual and otherwise. The story seems not complete.

Got halfway through the first page and saw where this story was going was shocked to see it went for 5 pages just goes to show how much the Brits love there wimp stories

The author teased us with the near-promise that the wife's lover will get her pregnant and she would perhaps go on to have his child; the husband reluctantly raising it as his own. Erotically speaking, this would have been the icing on the cake! So many authors dangle that carrot, only for them to u-turn towards the end. Hardly any of them deliver. This story deserved to have a more predictable ending.

The follow on story was good but, I still can't get over the level of betrayal the wife exhibited and her love for her hairy Scotsman.

I think this story would have been more balanced if the husband found Pierre under the boulder trapped but breathing faintly not able to talk but still alive and totally trapped. The husband should have gone back to Helen and told her of Pierre's fate while gathering food from the cabin to take to the boulder site to use as bait for the rats to come and eat Pierre alive. The husband could tell Helen that if she attempts to help Pierre while he's being consumed alive by the rats he'll put her under the rock pile with Pierre. Now that would have been a fitting ending for revenge. Too bad I can't write worth a crap!

@ukresearcher - As an actual Yukoner you lost me before I even finished the first page during the part where the characters flew into Montreal, Quebec and took a 6 hour boat ride and ended up in a place that is 5600km away (and twice the size of the UK). Unless you were in a jet powered boat with wings it's never gonna happen. Maybe you ought to do a little bit of geographical research before you magically travel 2/3 the way across the second largest country in the world in a boat that can travel faster than most commercial airliners travel.

So before tackling this newest one, thought it made sense to re-read this and "Return From Yukon" (GA). "Yukon" is both sexy and horrible. And with this ending, guess it was prime sequel bait, though it took someone great (again, talking 'bout GA) to make it happen.
