THE AFFLICTED

Hello all. So, "The Afflicted" had run its course. Basically, my concept is if a story keeps getting comments and favorited by readers, there is still a good amount of interest in it. That's been happening with all of my other stories, but The Afflicted has been 'flat' for a few months. I've always wanted to revisit it and put it together as more of a cohesive whole. So, that's my fall project. When it is done, I'm not sure if I'll re-post here or go the Kindle route and put it up for sale on Amazon.

Thanks for all of the votes and wonderful comments on the Afflicted. I'll keep you posted on the fate of the tale.

Hey - thanks to all who voted and commented on "Waiting for Purple", it won the Nude Day Contest for 2012. That makes two wins and a second over the last three years. I must be good at getting naked ;)

Just a heads up. I'm looking seriously at taking "The Afflicted" down pretty soon. The comments and votes have tapered off, which tells me it may have run its course. I've always wanted to revisit that and do some serious rewrites. Once I'm done, I'm on the fence about posting it back up here, or going the self-publishing route.

Hey all!

Some clarification. I have three award-winning stories.

HALLEY - 1st place, 2010 Nude Day

A KISS IS A QUESTION - 2nd Place, 2011 Nude Day

PRIESTESS OF THE HEAVENS - Reader's Choice, 2nd Place April 2011

Those three will stay up at least 2 years from date of submission because that's the agreement with Literotica.

The Afflicted continues to get good feedback, and I view the series as a whole, so I think I'll keep it up for a while (fingers crossed) For the rest, as I say, if a tale goes 30 days with no feedback or votes, I'll probably take it down.

Hey! A huge shout out to all the voters and readers from last April. "Priestess of the Heavens" won 2nd place (and 100 bucks) in the readers choice for the month I submitted it. Wow! and Thanks!

Thanks for all of the positive comments on The Afflicted.

Just so you know (if you are reading this), I have a general policy that if a story or series goes 30 days without a comment or vote, I take it down. I always give notice - but I do remove things. I just don't like the idea of my writing hanging out there on the internet for no real reason. It is there to be read.

On the bubble right now are "Bedmate Wonder" and "Rapunzel, No More."

I do plan on starting to ePublish on kindle in the future with anything I pull down.

The Afflicted is done! Once you read Chapter 23 you will see, yes, this is a bit open-ended. I just couldn't see a way to fully close the loop on a story that deals with an immortal race. However, this is definitely the final installment for some time to come. Hope you enjoy it!

Hey All!

Chapters 19 and 20 are up, 21 will hit soon, and the final 2 chapters will be here within a week or so.

I'll be honest - I feel like I screwed up a bit by taking so long. There was nothing to be done about it, but the number of comments on the stories has been a bit low. Personally, I feel like I've turned in some pretty solid (and smoking) chapters. I'm hoping I haven't lost too many readers from my delays. For those of you reading - I do hope you are enjoying this.

Hey All - Good news and bad news.

Good news. I have 30,000 words completed (the equivalent of three 4-page lit chapters). I am very excited at how this piece is wrapping up.

However - I want to get it right. The Afflicted has been over 2 years in the making, and now amounts to a good-sized novel. I truly don't want to disappoint any of the wonderful fans who have written so many wonderful comments and emails, (and shown your support by keeping the scores so high!)

I am going to polish these chapters, get them perfect, and then I will submit them all at once so you have a steady stream of chapters to wrap it up for you.

First of all, thanks for all of the votes, comments, favorites, and emails. It means a lot to me.

Second, if you do wish to hear from me, I need an email address. I try to respond to any questions, but can't if I don't have an email.

Third - to whoever has been 1-bombing me in the scores, I'm sorry. Whatever I did to piss you off, whether how I write my stories, or scoring too highly, or whatever - my apologies.

Lastly - here's my writing process works. I rough out the story in an outline, then I write it. Then, I make a final pass through the story and do cleanup and editing a chapter at a time. So, when I say that I am 'done' with "The Afflicted" it simply means that the majority of the story is sketched out, but I still need to run through one chapter at a time with due diligence and catch as many typos, misses, etc that I can (though I still seem to always miss something). That means that there will be a chapter a week, but that's all I've got in the tank.

Thanks, as always for the votes and encouragement - and once again, a big sorry to my haters.

Hey All, I recently got a promotion at work and had a million other things going on. Plus, I had a computer crash that lost half a chapter of the Afflicted. I have a good memory, so it wasn't a big loss of content - just in terms of time. I truly want to finish this series and put it to rest, will do so as soon as life allows.

If you haven't seen - the winners have been announced for the Nude Day Contest. D_Lynn won, and I'm thrilled to have taken 2nd place (Luna in 3rd) - congrats to the other two! Thanks for the votes and the comments, I mentioned to friends that I felt like I was already a winner just from the wonderful response I received for "A Kiss is a Question."

I'm still working away at "The Afflicted" in the little spare time I have with a goal of being done with the whole thing by Labor Day.

Hey all - I want to thank everyone for the great support of "A Kiss is a Question". One thing to mention. If you vote, JUST VOTE ONCE! It seems that a fair number of people have voted twice, and what that basically does is negate both votes because the site owners go through and sweep out duplicates on a periodic basis. So ;), thanks for the votes, but there's such a thing as too much love.

I have an entry into the Nude Day Contest 'A Kiss is a Question'. It was a ton of work, but I think the work paid off - I believe you'll enjoy it.

I have a new, LONG chapter done for the Afflicted. Friends are looking it over and once I have their corrections, it should be posted. My guess is it will 'drop' and be live by some time mid-to-late next week.

Hey all. First, thanks for all of your wonderful comments and votes! They mean so much, truly.

Second - I have not the best of news. I'm going into rehearsals for not one, but two plays in the next month (I'm a playwright in my other life) - so I simply won't have the time to write much. I know that sucks, but I just wanted to let you know.

The Afflicted will resume in June, and I'm fairly certain it will be wrapped by summer's end.

Hey all, thanks for the comments on the stories. To the anonymous folks out there:

A) I actually have a full time job and other (paid) gigs. So, when crunch time arrives (which it has recently), Lit gets put on the back burner. Paid gigs first, sorry to say.

B) Chapter 11 was submitted at the same time as Chapter 10. Lit just spaces out chapters intentionally. If you're really hungering for more of my stuff, folks seem to be really enjoying the craft in "Priestess of the Heavens"

C) In regard to Claude and Aimee, their adventures aren't over. Be patient, this is a novel in form and I've taken a lot of time developing the story arc.

Thanks for all of the amazing and kind comments on both of the Valentine's Day stories and the emails as well. It has meant a lot.

There are some other great stories in the contest - in particular I'll mention "She Needs a Montage" by Firebrain. So funny, so well written. Give it a look if you can.

My second Valentine's Day story contest is up - "Rapunzel, No More.". It is a true romance (though set in space). I'll warn you that there's no sex - but if you're in the mood for a plain old romantic story, it's a good choice. This one started as a Valentine's Day story for my wife last year and I polished it up for the contest. Hope you get a chance to check it out (and to vote/comment if you are so inclined.)
