Marilou Johansson was born in 1979 in Edinburgh, Scotland to Scottish parents. She remained in Scotland where she undertook a degree in law. She then relocated to England, and now lives in Malaysia. Her first works - The Mansion House Series - a series of short novels based on the life and times of two dominant mistresses and their submissives. Other than the two misstresses, the key character is Ethan MacDonald who comes under their servitude in order to pay off a sizeable debt. The Mansion House Series was published in June 2012.
