Laurel McNamara dropped out of college to pursue a career in the technical writing field. She ended up in Pasadena, California at CalTech for a job as QA lead for the Y2K project for the college. Falling in love with the little town of Monrovia that is nestled in the San Gabriel foothills of Los Angeles, Laurel stayed, played, lived and loved there for almost 20 years, until a sudden change of events brought her back to the area she grew up in. After fighting it, she is now settling in quite well, and is in fact, kind of happy actually. She still hates the snow.
