don’t let them grow up like you
and me hungry, hypocritical
bang bang
get the closet cleaned
too many bones for the visitors
hang the carrot near a TV somewhere
just put it far
far from the secrets and hidden lives
never knew boxed pictures
love letters and lies
could grow like toddlers and weeds
impossible to get rid of
but bad company at country clubs and opera houses
