I imagine I’ll always wonder
Exactly what I meant to you.
Your spell I will stay under
Never knowing what is true.

I can see your face so clearly
Blue eyes staring back at me.
You said you loved me dearly
And how our love had set us free.

I left my life for you
And all that I held dear.
Then you told me we were through
What made you do it, was it fear?

Either way, you ran that day
And left me standing there
I didn’t know what to say
Was more than I could bare.

I was a notch on your bedpost
This much I’ve learned since then
To me now you are just a ghost
Living only in my pen.

I often write about you
And the love we could have made.
Our days together, too few
If only you had stayed.

Good job

I think it is fairly well-written and does a good job of dealing with feelings many of us seem to have.

Question: should 'bare' be 'bear' ?
